Renderosity would not be what it is now if it wasn't for-- not only our members-- but also our staff. Every month we will be spotlighting a member of staff that is performing to the best of their abilities and someone who goes above and beyond for the community.
Â
July's Staff Spotlight is: Kendra
Â
Kendra is one of our Moderators and has been a member of Renderosity since the very beginning. She is always ready to lend a hand when and where it's needed. We are very thankful to have her not only as a part of our team but also as a valued member of Renderosity.
Â
Please tell us a little about yourself:
Â
Â
We see you've been a member for a little over 16 years; What introduced you to Renderosity?
Â
When I first found Poser it was at version 4 and I found Renderosity from a link on another site, (can't remember which one) that mentioned it as a good source for Poser items, freebies and help from the forums.
Â
How long have you been creating art?
Â
Digital art since Poser 4 with Bryce and PhotoImpact. For someone who can't draw it was a Godsend to finally be able to come close to creating images I didn't have a shot at with pen and paper or canvas and paints. I've always been creative in some way and before poser I would cross stitch, crochet, bead and make jewelry. As a teenager I learned floral design and took a course in silversmithing as well. I became interested in Photography when my kids came along and have had a couple of images chosen for the Bodie Foundation's calendar and in 2013 one of my photographs made the cover.
Â
What is your favorite work of art you created?
Â
I love mermaids and in one of my mermaid images I had created the character texture and painted the ocean. It's one of my favorites and I had requests for prints from friends who saw it. A large print of it is hanging in my dining room.
Â
What advice would you give to members who are just getting started with Renderosity?
Â
Patience mostly, it won't come overnight and if you try to create something everyday you'll never stop improving.
Â
What do you enjoy most about being a Renderosity Staff member?
Â
I've met some interesting people and being involved as a staff member I've learned so much. As members ask questions I learn more as well. Being on staff for the last several years has assisted me in my job as well as it's given me the training and confidence to volunteer for some leadership tasks there.
Is there anything you would like to share with us that we may not know about you?
Â
I'm a Postmaster, I like to golf and one of my images with a painted ocean scene was licensed by a major ad agency a few years back for their Old Spice campaign.
