Description

Canon EOS 10D, Canon 100-400L IS lens at 400mm ISO 400, 1/1600 second at f5.6, handheld with fill flash This tricolor heron was wading in the water, fishing for breakfast when I took this photo. The light was just right to show his colors and also make nice reflections, without being too harsh. I love these birds because they are so graceful with every move. I watched him as he caught several fish so I suspect that the early morning light also makes it easy for the birds to see down into the water. Photogaphed at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Florida Thank you for your comments on Cattle Egret in Side Light. And I got smile out of the "Don King hair-do" comment. These birds occasionally ruffle their feathers, and I got the shot at just that moment. I felt that it gave an even more unique look to an already beautiful and interesting bird.

Oh, this is wonderful! The reflection is awesome. We get Blue Herons in our area and I love them they ARE graceful! Excellent capture!

Excellente capture!The bird picture itself is awesome,but the reflection makes the photograph stand out even more incredible! This beautiful bird must of been walking very slowly when you toke the shot,because the reflection is clear as a bell!Totaly awesome!Damn I wish that i could take picture like this one!I bow before you!!!Have a great day!
