Description

Uh, okay, here goes. As you can easily see from my other images, I am a *cough* N00B *cough*, and can use all of the help I can get. But, enough about me. The bottom ship was from a free online tutorial, the URL of which I have forgotten. (If the original tutorial author is reading this, let me know, and I'll give you credit) The other two are my own random designs. Anyways, the entire thing was made using Make Poly Cube, Extrude Face, and Smooth, pretty much. And while I do own Photoshop CS, I really have almost no idea how to use it. (Any help would be appreciated, by the way) So how I managed to export the image(s) was some bizarre, hybrid combination of what I knew how to do in CS and MSPaint. Anyways, please don't review too harshly, and any tips, advice, etc. is MORE than welcome. Thanks for taking the time to [re]view!

Hey they're looking good, I really like the smooth curvature of the wings on the middle ship. Looks very organic :-) One thing I will say, more of a pointer that I have learnt whilst making Unreal Tournament maps, is that make sure you finish at least one of these ships (middle one ;-)) by adding lots of details and making windows and all that kinda stuff. You will end up learning a lot more about Maya and develop yourself a workflow than if you just make lots of models that you don't carry through to high-detail, finished renders. I think the middle ship especially has a lot of potential, and would look damn good if you covered it in panels with some bolts n stuff maybe. And even if you don't texture it (http://www.good-tutorials.com/ LOADS of PS tuts) then at least drop a few blinn shaders on it with different colours for some contrast. Oh crap, I'm rambling again. And hell, what do I know, I'm a total cough NOOB cough myself! Anyway, nice work buddy, can't wait to see the next version? - Nillian
