Description
This is a fantasy sword I modeled from master Kit Rae's Kilgorin II, but I turned it into a scimitar with a strange blade made of a black mat metal. Rendered with HDRI environment, both GI and FG on.

very cool, i really like this scimitar. Nice job :)
masterful posting you have made .. excellent done alephzain
I love the intricet detail you have on the handle and top part of the sword, tell me, how was this done?
Thank you d3nic for the comment. Actually, the level of detail I achieved wasn't quite what I was hoping: I found myself working with reference material which wasn't as hi-res as I wanted. I modeled another sword, inspired to Kit Rae's Morthoseth, which turned out a lot more detailed because of the highest quality of the pictures I was able to find. I'll post that soon. To answer your question, anyway, the hilt's finest details are done by good ol' texturing, while the larger details are directly modeled on the mesh.
This is an excellent!
