Description

Thought you might like to see what it looks like from the bridge of one of the huge Mars Rover Fours. All instrumentation is holograph, as is the huge panoramic view (180 degrees worth). One advantage of that is that the "pilot" can shift the view as needed; for example, if a rear view is needed or a side one, the scene shifts accordingly. Same with the instrumentation. The pilot can call up hundreds of holo instruments and make them large, small, near far, to the side, below, above, etc.--but best of all, he only has to look at the few that he actually needs to see at any time. Readouts constantly appear and disappear. Shift change is in about three minutes. Ethyl is patiently waiting to relieve the current pilot, an old guy who goes barefoot because his feet hurt all the time. The captain doesn't particularly like it, but Gavin isn't about to back down. Jan is heading out to inspect the entire vehicle--four sections with four decks each. A bad dust storm is brewing off to the right and very soon the visibility outside is going to drop significantly. That's where the holo-view has another advantage; it can see right through the storm. To the pilot, everything looks just as if there were no storm--or night, for that matter. Jan Mendoza is one of the Matronauts that will be killed in the Orphir accident. (See "Disaster at Orphir" picture elsewhere in this gallery.) This picture is dedicated to my cyber buddy, Dwayne Cole. You can captain this chunk of machinery! Credits: Cyber Seat by stonemason and Moebius87. I retextured it. Panoramic picture by NASA/JPl. I added walls, ceiling, and flooring. Gavin is a M2 figure from DAZ and Ethyl and Jan Matronauts are Poser 5 figures whose faces were created in the Poser Face Lab. Thanks for looking! Jeremy

Forgot to add that all the "gauges" are genuine in that they are measuring actual Martian data. The vehicle is headed for the Columbia Hills. Yeah, again.
