First, I wanted to throw the original render away. But then I thought: maybe I can still make something of it with some postwork. This is the result.

Actually, those rocks are very convincing. They remind me of the rocks in Texas Canyon, a small place near I-10 in eastern Arizona. These are some of the best Terragen rocks I've seen. Nice water, too.
