Description

I still remember that night when, coming back home already late for dinner, I saw for the first time the neon sign old Mr Finkelstein had put over his bookstore's door. It was the first neon I ever saw. I stayed there, mesmerized, for quite a long time. Mr Finkelstein's bookstore was the place of my dreams, where for a dime I could dive into the incredible paperback adventures written by Evan Hunter, John D. McDonald, Dashiel Hammett and the likes. Those were the early Forties, with "Casablanca" and "Mrs Miniver" at the local theater and WWII raging across the Ocean. I was desperately in love with Sarah Patucci, who lived at 17 Vintage Road just down the street; she was thirteen and utterly beautiful, and at the time neither I nor her could possibly know that we would marry ten years later. _________________________________ Hi everyone. For the first time I tried to assemble a somewhat complex scene. This is the scenography for a short animation I want to realize as soon as my C4D skills will be honed enough to let me try it. Here above you can find the non-realistic render (my thanks are to Rollmops for his tut on making sidewalks), which is the one I chose for the would-be animation. I'm posting other two versions, feel absolutely free to express your opinions and critics. I hope you like the image and the little story that goes with it ;-) ______________________ 12 lights, rendered with AA best and postglow on the windows, neonsign and lamps at 2560x2048, then resized for posting. Child and cat are from Poser4 (I'm still not able to model anything resembling a human, LOL). Any comments and suggestions are really really welcome. Have a great week, Stefano :)

Cute. You should maybe try turning out one of those interactive type cd games like 'Riven', I'll bet you'd have a lot of fun with that, and I'm sure we'd all love to have one!

Excellent work on the neon sign and the street lamps with their schimmering glows. The story isn't bad either (gives the image a mood).
