Looks great , the glowing is very well done :)
Very well done, great medical illustration. I like the textures you created.
I was waiting until anyone does it :)) great work, excellent lights in the neurons!
Looks great! My only gripe and it may be unfounded, is that the neural paths are semi transparent and you can see other paths through them. This is especailly noticable on the middle neuron, upper right hand path. A minor quible all and all. I love these microscopic renders.
I WANNA HAVE YOUR BABIES!!!!!!
Damned fine render Mr. D! Lovely modeling and shading...top marks!
Beautifully done! Looks just like the neurons I've known :)
Very nice work. Truly well done.
Super nice medical picture Peter!. Very realistic and beutifull.
This rocks. Beautifully done.
Well done Peter, as a Neuroscience student, I find this illustration particularly interesting. I notice some small indescrepencies in the accuracy of the illustration as I believe these are cell bodies and dendrites, there should be some axon terminals in there somewhere. Just an observation on my part but it's well done none the less. -- 3d_e
Yes 3D_Explorer, this is very much simplified. In reality (as you know), there would be synapses connecting to the soma, and the signal at that stage would be chemical with acetylcholin through depolarisation of the postsynaptic membrane (only dendrites in this scene =P). I haven't gone to such detail yet as this is the first illustration, fit perhaps for a simple animation, but I am giving myself a year-year to build up a demo reel and to learn animation with Cinema so I hopefully can start my own little scientific/medical illustration business here in Sweden. I really appreciate input on both the scientific accuracies and artistic qualities of my illustrations (as my area of research is viruses, specifically HIV), so please do continue to comment!!! And its a pleasure to have fellow researchers/students of the medical field doing 3D here! Cheers! Peter C.
Awesome! Just an awesome "macro" creation!
In my former life I was a nurse and also a photographer for a nursing journal and although there are some inaccurracies as mentioned, overall the effect is quite stunning. keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll make a great scientific illustrator.
Wonderful "realistic " scene ;-)
