Description

All handmade bitmap textures were created using Photoshop. Galleon modeled and UV mapped in 3D Studio Max, imported and textured in Bryce. The galleon being reused from a previous piece, has been re-worked, refitted and new textures added, in essence, has been redone. Sailors were modeled, prepared and imported from Poser. Bow and aft wakes and middle mast banner are separate terrains with my own tweaked Bryce DTE and Photoshop made textures. Ocean terrains and sky textures were also created using my own recipe in the Bryce Deep Texture Editor and Sky-Lab. Entire scene was assembled and rendered in Bryce using volumetric lighting and colors readjusted in Photoshop. Very small amount of post-process done for clarity and the signature.

Not quite sure what would happen if the wind dropped - that 50ft. main mast flag would hit the deck!! The sea is terrific (perhaps some foam on the crest of the waves) but is marred by the clean lines of the ship, haze, fog, mist?? and perhaps an albatros or two. Nearly there. Dennis

Great image and I love the sea state. But in these conditions the cannon would have been drawn back and the gunports closed against the sea.....

Water texture is best I've ever seen - really arresting. Great modelling on the ship, too.
