Description

This image was stuck in my head for 2 weeks, I was mentally constipated and when it finally came together, it was about 8 hours of work. Photoshop 7 and various pictures I've taken. Thanks for passing in the night, Sail on mates!

Actually, Zargent, if the storm were that intense the amount of sails would be reduced to a topsail or 2 on all masts. This would allow some steerageway, but would reduce the chance of the masts being carried away over the side. A captain keeping a ship under all plain sail as these are would be a fool, and seriously compromise the safety of his ship and crew.

I realized the sail thing too. I would like to think that the ships are in full sail because they are sailing toward blue sky, and the impending storm is not quite on them although the seas have been stirred. Notice the light and how the sails reflect a bluish tone in front of them. Good attention to detail though.
