Description
I put the original concept images out for this way back in May/June?
But I couldn't bring myself to tell a story that wasn't about one of my characters and I needed a way to retire Evelyn and Fae, so here we are six months later with a revised concept.
I get asked quite often about writing stories and how to get published and nothing would make me happier than seeing someone else do the same but I won't lie to anyone about how much work is really involved, so I figured why don't I write a story about writing stories and the truths about what happens after you get published?
The story will feature all of my characters, including a few you have yet to meet, it's a long time since I have done a story like this and put it out on public view, normally they stay very much locked away with me.
Hopefully the story will be coming for the new year, depending largely on how close to having the first draft of Isla's story ready to edit I am by Christmas,
Gosia is the character in the main image, modelled in Blender, then rigged for Gen 8.1 then moved back to Blender for rendering,
Ayiana is in the second concept image, modelled in Blender then rigged for Gen 9 then moved back to Blender for rendering,
Third image is Gosia and Ayiana.
Clothes are a mix of self made stuff and Daz stuff, except the backpack that is the teen accessories for Gen 9 but I retextured it to work better in the cycles engine of Blender.
The environment was made in Blender, plants were made in Blender or imported from either Botaniq or Plantica, they're all manually placed, I've largely ditched particle and scattering systems as I don't feel they truly echo natures chaos, so I would rather spend a couple of hours placing stuff or making it in scene.
Lighting is courtesy of my sun system and is a single OSL, colour temp is set to k5700 with a blued tinge to the colour.
Camera is set to f3.6 using my lensing and focusing system to give the depth of field,
No AI, no postwork aside from sloppily adding a hallmark in paint.

These images you are sharing here all look fantastic...your story within a story sounds so interesting, I will look forward to reading it my friend! :-)
Thank you Johnny.
I have certainly turned a few corners this year, lots of very big changes to workflow have really paid off,
The story might be on here but more likely my own website and another site, I'm kind of breaking from most 3D sites for the written stuff as they don't generally make stories easy to follow.
I'm really looking forward to your story about storywriting (and yes, I can imagine how much work goes into it, not just developing a concept, but also the actual writing process, which is surely quite slow on some days, and preparing for publication must be incredibly stressful). I won't say much about your general abilities this time; you know my opinion on that: WOW 😊
Thank you, the past year has seen many changes to my workflow and they have all worked, which is most unusual.
The story might go up here but most 3D sites don't make reading stories easy, they tend to get broken up so it might be a case it goes out on my website or a more dedicated writing site.
An excellent set of images as always. I particularly like your arrangements of plant life - so realistic. :-)
Thank you, nature is more like a beautiful warzone than an oil painting, once you embrace the chaos of it, it's quite fun to create environments entirely manually.
The image feels very mindful and calming to me, perhaps also because of the green color palette, which creates a beautiful and natural connection to the environment. Great use of DoF. Gosia comes across as an impressive personality, both visually and in the way you describe her. You can feel that clearly in the portrait with both characters. Ayiana seems to be a cheerful soul, and the two of them appear to harmonize well together. You’ve got a good eye for clothing choices again, and as always, I admire your carefully composed plants and the way you place them. Perhaps you could design my little homegarden ;-) Thank you as well for giving us a glimpse into your work as an author and everything that goes into it — something readers often never get to see. I’m looking forward to the continuation. :-)
The green and cooled blue are harmonious and dropping the K rating of the sun helps make the light soothing too which coupled with Gosia's light skin, fair hair and pale eyes works nicely, it's basically a landscape photography colour palette used throughout.
In truth once you start seeing nature as a beautiful battle being played out where every bit of space and light is fought for and embrace that chaos it becomes quite addictive to recreate them, even if you are researching if this plant would actually be in this environment etc
The story will probably go out on my website rather than 3D sites, they don't often work well with stories as they get scattered amongst other things, but maybe it will land here.
Really great image the scenery is very well done
