🌿 ✦ 🔮 ✦ 🌿 Prologue 2: 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓡𝓪𝓿𝓮𝓷 𝓛𝓸𝓻𝓭 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓢𝓱𝓪𝓭𝓸𝔀𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓕𝓾𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓮 The scouts return... ✧ ❁ ✧ 🌿Nyx, the greatest and wisest of his ravens, cut through the veil of mist with a majestic beat of his wings and landed on his outstretched forearm. His talons sank gently into the black fabric of the arm-guard, and the bird fixed him with eyes threaded in silver and glowing red. Nyx was more than a companion. He was a part of the Ravenlord himself, a mirror of his thoughts and feelings. The other ravens circled around them, their wings whispering softly in the oppressive silence. “The winds carry the scent of trouble,” the Ravenlord murmured as he brushed a hand over Nyx’s glossy feathers. “There’s something moving in the air. Something old. Can you feel it? It’s like a melody whose notes I can’t quite grasp.” Nyx answered with a coarse, low caw that dissolved into the fog like an echo. It wasn’t agreement — more a warning, a sign that whatever was coming reached far beyond anything the Ravenlord had faced before. The rest of the flock tightened their formation, their movements aligned like an unseen army preparing for an enemy no one could yet name. Two of the largest ravens broke from the swarm and landed nearby. Their glowing red eyes flickered like sparks at dusk, every glance a message left unspoken. Together with Nyx, they were the oldest and most powerful of his companions — carriers of ancient knowledge and silent caution. Nyx, first among them, looked at him again, and for a heartbeat the Ravenlord thought he saw doubt in the bird’s otherwise impenetrable gaze. “Fly, Nyx,” the Ravenlord said at last, his voice quiet but unwavering. “Probe the mists, find their source, and bring me answers. There’s no room for uncertainty. Not now.” Nyx lifted off with a powerful sweep of his wings, his talons lingering a moment longer on the Ravenlord’s arm, as if to seal a promise. The other two ravens followed, a triad of shadow and silence diving into the mist and vanishing within it, trailed by the rest of the feathered host that closed around the leading three like a shield. The Ravenlord remained where he was, arms folded, eyes fixed on the dark swirl above him, which hovered as if unsure of its next move. The silence that settled was almost tangible. The mist seemed to thicken, heavier, as if trying to pull the Ravenlord into its cold embrace. But he stayed where he was — unmoving, a sentinel in a world whose edges had begun to fray. Somewhere deep inside, he felt that the events ahead would not only shape the fate of his land but also alter his own path in ways that could never be undone. A faint rustle made him pause. Nyx had returned one last time to deliver a brief report about the magic-touched girl Nikita. Then he lingered for a heartbeat before taking his place at the head of the dark flock. Nikita lived in the same region — the deep forests of the Beyond, where the lands of Earth pressed against the borders of the other elemental realms. She was one of those under his protection, though she didn’t know it — not yet. A young, unruly soul who knew nothing but the forests she’d grown up in. For reasons he couldn’t fully explain, Nikita mattered to him more than she should. She carried a strange, untamed force that made her something singular — and possibly dangerous. The thought of her, her future, and the role she would play in the turmoil ahead refused to leave him. It felt as if her fate was bound tightly to his own — and to that of the land between the worlds.

Smile, thank you so much. I'm really glad you like this completely new style of illustration for me. I wanted to find a practical use for Filatoon in connection with my older fantasy story.
