Aber keine Sorge, ich komme schnell zum Punkt. Nur ein paar Worte zu mir, dann geht’s los. Neben vielerlei Bastelarbeiten am PC liebe ich Tiere, vor allem Katzen, Gartenarbeit und Skateboarding, letzteres so sehr, dass ich meine eigene, meist dunkle Skater-Mode entworfen, genäht und sogar auf dem Laufsteg präsentiert habe. Neben meinem Beruf war und ist Lesen immer meine größte Leidenschaft, wenn auch meist spätabends. Dann kam der Unfall und mit ihm das abrupte Ende meines Skater-Lebens. Kein Brett mehr, kein Adrenalin, keine neuen Outfits. Alles hat seine Zeit, dachte ich mir schweren Herzens, so auch diese. Und ja, das kreative Austoben und Präsentieren fehlte mir, mehr, als ich dachte. Für mich ist kreative Unterforderung fast so schlimm wie kalter Kaffee. Also suchte ich nach etwas Neuem. Dank meines Freundes entdeckte ich die Fotografie. Zuerst Bienchen und Blümchen, nette Models, die nicht weglaufen. Doch während der Pandemie kam etwas ganz anderes dazu: DAZ Studio. Eine kostenlose 3D-Software zur Erstellung digitaler Figuren und Szenen. Ich schaute meinem Freund über die Schulter, der DAZ Studio schon länger nutzte, sah mir Tutorials an und stürzte mich noch ziemlich unbedarft ins digitale Abenteuer. Vieles ging schief, manches klappte, ein herrliches Chaos aus „Try and Error“. Aber ich war wieder glücklich. 2022 wagte ich mich als blutige Anfängerin in ein paar Contests, bei denen Bilder meist mit Freebies mit Iray erstellt werden sollten. Ich hatte Spaß, gewann zwar nichts, lernte aber: Nur Bilder? Reicht mir nicht. Also fing ich an, kleine Geschichten dazuzuschreiben, spontan, oft planlos, aber mit viel Herz und Gefühl. Und plötzlich hatte ich eine wachsende Story mit seltsamen Figuren und abgefahrenen Welten. Und ja, ich schreibe! Die kreative Seele strahlte wieder. Autorin würde ich mich trotzdem nicht nennen, dafür gibt’s andere, die Weltliteratur erschaffen. Ich bin eher ein kreativer Schreiberling mit einer Vorliebe für Spielereien mit Bildern und Worten. Es geht mir nicht ums nächste große Epos, aber das Schreiben bedeutet mir viel. Es bringt mich auf neue Wege, lässt neue, manchmal abgedrehte Welten entstehen und verbindet Ideen mit Bildern und Worten, manchmal mit Humor und manchmal mit ernsteren Gedanken. Oft überrasche ich mich selbst, wohin sich meine Charaktere entwickeln. Nun, das DAZ Studio bietet immer Neues an, neue Ideen mussten getestet werden – kurz gesagt: die kleine Geschichte schlief nach einer Weile wieder ein. Schade eigentlich … Als dann 10/2024 Filament Rendering bei DAZ Studio eingeführt wurde, war ich sofort neugierig. Ich suchte nach einem Projekt, um diesen neuen Comic-Stil sinnvoll zu nutzen. Da fiel mir meine alte Fantasy-Geschichte wieder ein. Ob das funktioniert? Ich testete, und ja: Es passte perfekt! Der neue Stil gibt der Story eine eigene Optik, die ich mit Iray nie so hinbekommen hätte. Klar, einfach war’s nicht. Filament ist kein „Iray in schnell“, sondern tickt ganz anders. Also wieder: testen, fluchen, Kaffee trinken, weiter testen. Aber das gehört dazu. Jeder Künstler, oder eben Schreiberling mit Bild-Faible, entwickelt sich und seine Skills ständig weiter, also musste ich dadurch. Deshalb habe ich beschlossen, meine Geschichte jetzt richtig aufzurollen. In aller Unvollkommenheit. Die ersten, noch etwas unbedarften Bilder im Filament Stil? Bleiben, wie sie sind. Sie erzählen nicht nur die Story, sondern auch meine Entwicklung zu diesem Thema. Früher beim Skaten war’s ähnlich: Ich bin nicht nur gefahren, ich habe Mode dazu gemacht, genäht, getragen, gezeigt. Ein kreativer Prozess von der ersten Idee bis zur Präsentation. Heute passiert das eben digital, mit Ideen, Bildern und Texten. Auch da beginnt alles mit einer vagen Vorstellung, wird durch Experimente lebendig, bis schließlich etwas Eigenes entsteht. Ob auf Rollen oder in Pixeln, der kreative Weg fühlt sich erstaunlich vertraut an. Und ja – Kaffee! Ohne ihn geht gar nichts. Er ist mein Treibstoff, meine Denkflüssigkeit. Ich bin überzeugt: Einige meiner besten Ideen verdanke ich frisch gebrühtem Kaffee. Sollte also mal etwas seltsam wirken, entweder war’s Absicht oder meine Tasse war leer. 😉 Ihr werdet mich hier hin und wieder im realistischen Iray-Stil sehen, während die Geschichte im Comic-Stil erzählt wird. Der Titel: Hidden Magic – The Great Rift: Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Magie (Abenteuer im Land zwischen den Welten) Zwischendurch melde ich mich sicher mal wieder, wenn sich etwas nicht gut in Bildern erklären lässt oder mir einfach danach ist. Auch persönliche Einblicke am Rande der eigentlichen Handlung im „Land zwischen den Welten“ teile ich gern mit euch. Und ja, ich schaue, ob ihr fleißig mitlest! Ideen und Feedback? Immer her damit! Aber halt, bevor ihr Amelie und Nikita, meine beiden Heldinnen, die ihr auf dem Poster hinter mir schon erahnen könnt, in Aktion erleben werdet, regt sich zuerst etwas im Schatten. Ganz still, ganz beiläufig und doch von größerer Bedeutung, als es zunächst scheint. Glaubt mir, das passiert nicht zufällig. Und jetzt kommt mit in die Welt meiner zwei starken Mädels, Amelie und Nikita samt Freunden und so manchem Familienmitglied, um die sich früher oder später alles drehen wird. Don’t worry, I’ll keep this short. Just a few words about myself before we dive in. Besides all kinds of creative tinkering on the computer, I love animals — especially cats — gardening, and skateboarding. Skateboarding so much, in fact, that I once designed and sewed my own mostly dark skater fashion and even walked it down a runway. Alongside my job, reading has always been my biggest passion, usually late at night. And then came the accident — and with it the abrupt end of my skating life. No board, no adrenaline, no new outfits. Everything has its time, I told myself, even this. And yes, that creative rush, presenting something of my own, I missed it far more than expected. For me, creative underload is almost as tragic as cold coffee. So I went searching for something new. Thanks to my partner, I discovered photography. First bees and blossoms — friendly models that don’t run away. But during the pandemic, something completely different entered the picture: DAZ Studio. A free 3D software for creating digital characters and scenes. I watched my partner use it, followed a few tutorials, and jumped into the digital chaos with very little clue. A lot went wrong, some things worked, and the mess was glorious. But I was happy again. In 2022, as a complete beginner, I joined a few contests where images had to be created mostly with Iray and free assets. I didn’t win anything, but I learned one thing: just images? Not enough for me. So I started adding small stories to them — spontaneous, often directionless, but full of heart and emotion. And suddenly a growing tale appeared, filled with odd characters and strange worlds. And yes, I was writing. My creative spark was back. I still wouldn’t call myself an author — there are people out there who write world literature. I’m more of a playful storyteller who enjoys mixing images and words. I’m not chasing the next great epic, but writing means something to me. It opens new paths, lets new — sometimes wild — worlds grow, and merges ideas with visuals and words, sometimes with humor, sometimes with weight. I often surprise myself with the directions my characters decide to take. But DAZ Studio kept changing, new tools kept appearing, and bit by bit the little story fell asleep again. A pity, really … When DAZ Studio introduced Filament rendering in October 2024, my curiosity lit up immediately. I was looking for a project that could make good use of that new comic-like style — and remembered my old fantasy story. Would it work? I tested it, and yes: it fit perfectly. That new style gives the story its own visual identity, something I could never have achieved with Iray. Of course, it wasn’t easy. Filament isn’t “Iray but faster” — it behaves very differently. So again: testing, cursing, drinking coffee, more testing. But that’s part of the process. Every artist — or storyteller with a fondness for visuals — grows with each challenge. So I pushed through it. And that’s why I decided to revive my story properly now. With all its imperfections. Those early, still-awkward Filament images? They stay. They don’t just tell the story — they show my path along the way. It used to be the same when I skated: I didn’t just ride, I designed clothes, sewed them, wore them, showed them. A creative chain from the first spark to the moment of presentation. Today that happens digitally — with ideas, images, and words. Again, it all starts with a vague thought, becomes alive through experiments, and eventually turns into something of its own. Whether on wheels or in pixels, the creative journey feels surprisingly familiar. And yes — coffee! Nothing works without it. It’s my fuel, my thinking fluid. I’m convinced some of my best ideas exist only because the coffee was fresh. So if something ever feels odd — either it was intentional, or my mug was empty. 😉 From time to time you’ll still see me in a more realistic Iray style, while the main story will unfold in the comic style. The title: Hidden Magic – The Great Rift: In Search of the Lost Magic (Adventures in the Land Between the Worlds) Every now and then I’ll drop in again when something can’t be explained well with images alone or simply because I feel like sharing a bit more. I’ll happily give you personal glimpses alongside the main storyline in the “Land Between the Worlds.” And yes, I’ll be watching whether you’re reading along! Ideas and feedback? Always welcome. But wait — before you meet Amelie and Nikita, my two heroines whom you can already glimpse on the poster behind me, something stirs in the shadows.
