Description
This will be my last post in this gallery in the foreseeable future. M$ is ending support for Windows 10, which is as good a time as any to switch the big computer to Linux, which is a good a time as any to leave Poserdom and take Antonia into the vast eclectic republic of Blender.
Will I be back? Who knows. Blender could become the industry standard one day and the Blender Foundation might decide they need to cash in big, and Poser might not only survive but become awesome. The last time I left, it took ten years to come back, though, so don't hold your breath. Anyway, I hope to see most of you in the Blender gallery fairly soon.
Right to left: original V3 render from 2003, remake with Antonia 1.2 from 2022, re-render with new materials from 2025.

I did their W11 upgrade on a perfectly functioning W10 desktop and it killed it. Granted, the computer was getting old and I never would have attempted to run Poser or any intense video games on it, but it still worked. Until then.
You made me think too. And really? I can't imagine there being an industry standard in this medium long into the future. Are there any new users? I never encounter any. I also hope I am wrong and somebody, anybody will tell me so. After all, why go through all this when prompting is so easy. And that's exactly what people are being trained to do.
Too funny though ...... For everything CoPilot is capable of doing? MSFT is running TV commercials for CoPilot and the focus of those commercials is using filters to transform regular everyday pictures into cartoon mode, statue mode, stupid stull like that. But I guess they just want people to play with it
Well, best of luck with your projects, my friend! I like the oldest image the best. LOL! Awesome POV.

I switched to Linux about ten years ago and have never looked back. Being a Bryce user, I found that it works on Linux under WINE - though it can be very quirky.
So I created a virtual machine running Win XP and problem solved.
I also have a virtual machine running Windows 7 64bit so that I can use a fractal programme called Incendia Next. With this, I can create solid fractals which I can import into Bryce.
Best of luck with Blender. I'd love to use it but am too lazy to learn while I still have access to Bryce. :-)

You and your'e art will be missed, I keep getting mail about the stopping of support for Windows,One of my computers still runs windows 7 Pro and works fine, Just look how often Apple has up dated their OS My music programs getting wiped on widows 10 almost every other update At this time I have a virtual machine running windows 11 I don't see much that has changed, But like you I will have to make up my mind within the next 4 days, up grade to 11 stay with 10 or in my case pull the plugs. If I just pull the plugs and sit with my feet up I could watch TV what a nasty thought

I still have two laptops running Windows 11. The work laptop is of course off limits for private artsy stuff, and I think the Surface is probably not powerful enough for what I usually like to render, but at least I will be able to open Poser files and pull things I need out of them. Also, MarvelousDesigner has just released a Linux version. I haven't tried it yet, but if it works on Ubuntu, I'll still be able to put clothes on my figures. :-)

I'm still on 10 and running a 1080ti - might need to update as well. Blender is really looking good these days. Lots of potenmtial left too!

It would be such a shame if you didn’t come back ^^ Honestly, I don’t even know what to say as a proper goodbye — I’d love to come up with something wonderful and dramatic, but I think it’s enough to tell you that you’ve enriched this community in so many ways, and we would truly miss you. Without you, so many little dolls would be left undressed — not exactly a tragedy, but still a bit unfair in winter XD
I’m quietly hoping you’ll find some kind of virtual workaround that lets you stay with Poser after all ^^ Your creations have their own special folder in my runtime — they’re swapped between characters, and your materials are often the base for the fabrics they wear. Simply one of a kind. It would be such a loss if, one day, your work could only be found “under the table,” because nothing comparable existed anymore and time had swept it all away, like so many treasures lost since 2006.
Alright… maybe that did turn a bit dramatic after all, but what I really wanted to say is: I’d just be sad not to see or hear anything from you anymore. You’re kind of part of the Renderosity cityscape by now ^^
P.S.: Oh, and by the way — the new 2025 Antonia materials look unrealistically amazing! WOW!!!

Aw, thank you, that's very flattering. No, the move to Blender is final, at least for the time being. But if I make things in Blender that I think might also work nicely in Poser, it's not out of the question that I'd share a Poser version. Or other folks who use both might do the port, who knows ...
Das mit dem Stadtbild lass mal nicht dem Herrn Merz seine Töchter hören.
