Description
This is a photo from my first roll of film taken with my first camera - a manual Minolta SLR with a Rokkor 50 mm prime - which I bought with my $2 per hour part-time job.
I was engaged in the thrilling activity of watching grass grow, when I noticed that it was watching me back.

lol.....be very very quite...we are hunting humans...lol
Great capture and I have a black cat and know first hand the terror this animal can create, especially at 1am in the morning walking back from the bathroom in the dark and without warning a set of claws grab my ankles....to old for that wake up call now...lol
Great share and nostalgia :)
I've ran into several black cats over the years and they're very cool, although their personality has always been more cautious than other types.
One very stormy day, I had left the garage door open because I had been doing some gardening and I had hopes of getting some more work in once the rains had cleared off. As always I had started that seasons planting in a Grow Tent in that garage. When I looked in that day I found a small soaking wet black cat sitting regally amongst my pots and flats. No one in our neighborhood claimed ownership of that soggy intruder and we've had her for four years now. Your photo brings me back to that day. Thanks for that ;)
Interesting story, especially since one of my 'black cat' encounters was similar -- years ago some strange black cat just wandered into my garage and hopped on the roof of my car like she owned it ... lol. Next day she returned to 'her car' and I snapped a pic of her, but it was terribly underexposed and just plain lousy.
Oh, that first photo.... I have no idea what my first one was - I've likely passed the million mark many years ago.... But that first camera is always a thrill. I shoot with a Canon EOS 6D presently. And I seriously need to mow my backyard - I've been watching it grow too long!
This is just delightful with that set of eyes watching you back! What a great shot!
I wanted to buy the original EOS 5D ... but I was too cheap and settled for a measly 20D:-( The 5D was a WAAAY better camera! ... and the daddy of the even better 6D.
Black cats have their own attitude since their young age. Rescued one few weeks ago, less than 2 months old. The day before, his Mom and his bros and/or sis were caught. But the little black one refused and took a hidden place impossible for humans to reach. Before that, when I talked to him and tried to touch him (high above my head), he threatened to slap my hand lollll
Hunger was strong and the trap worked during the night. Once at home, waiting for the local association for pets, what a furry ball of love once in arms! And it was a baby who never had contact with humans. Now they are all in a safe place, altogether. Can't take more at home, or I would have taken him too I think.
The one on your photo was in a quiet moment while looking at you. No stress at all for him.
Thanks for sharing that story, Caty:-)
