Description

Nina from my comic Malevolence. This was far more post production than I anticipated. The initial render came out pretty good, but I needed more texture, more dynamics, and more contrast. HDRI and a 3 spotlight setup provided the glow to her side, the enhancement to the face, and some of the eye shine. So I put it in the raw camera filter on Photoshop. That got me closer. It brought out the eyes, helped establish the reflection, and made the shadows far more intense. Then I started in on color lookups. They were too intense so the opacity of each dropped considerably (below 40%). Layering them together brought out the nostalgic tone seen in the final image. I then added film grain to give it some additional texture. You can find the comic here: https://tapas.io/series/Malevolence1
