Description

I posted this, like, 4000 years ago, and decided to post it again. I felt sorry for it, sitting in the corner all by itself... I'd like to say this was done in oils on canvas---on the west wall of the Sistine Chapel; but it was done in Photoshop v. 1, in my bedroom. (It was such an old version of Photoshop, I had to put in quarters to get it to work.) As for the name, I asked him: "Who are you?" And he said: "Emil Dovzhenko!" Thus the title. (He showed up at my door, with his family, 2 goats and a small pig. I couldn't turn him away...) I'm reeeeaaallly slow at commenting this time, so bear with me: I'll get to you all! Thanks for your wonderful visits and comments, I appreciate them all... Have a wonderful weekend! mark ------------------

You make my day with this Mister Dovzhenko, my friend. And then I read your story about this Mister, who came to stand for your door 8,000 years ago, together with his goats, and yes, what do you do then, right? You have just enough coffee grinded, but no more milk. Coffee without milk, that doesn't like even that pig, so you first enter those goats, and then that exhausted strange guest, and you immediately start milking those goats. Oh man, exactly what you needed, where you had begged the gods for. What an answer, and what a delicious coffee and company. Sigh, was it just 8000 years ago again, that were the wonderful times, right?

p.s. And where I'm very curious of, is how that piglet was called; and what you've done with it, because were you hungry? Certainly "Yes".

Of course this was "done in oils on canvas---on the west wall of the Sistine Chapel" I saw it there myself, in a dream, just the other night. Along side Mr. Dovzhenko's portrait were images of some goats and a pig and now I know why the animals were there; family portraits always include the pets. This little guy is so adorable. He's curious and friendly and he's got talent: he can keep his hat on even though he has no ears. Thanks for sharing him again, he's delightful!

Let me start off by saying...your cartoon images are always a work of art my friend!

Before I go any further...thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my work, your insight is always so detailed and done with such artistic flair...you have a wonderful way with words Mark!

Now on to this splendid Mister Dovzhenco.

I don't know if there is a backstory to this character or whether or not you ever introduced him before. Its the first for me. If he as you mentioned, was created some 4000 thousand years ago in that imaginative mind of yours using the first ever copy of Photoshop Version-1 with the serial# 0001 (one can clearly see how far Photoshop has come from those humble beginnings of version-1 to the present Photoshop subscription version) Its nice of you to finally set Mr. Dovzhenco free for the whole world and us to admire...that in itself is a fantastic event worth celebrating.

I know his family of 2 goats and a pig will be welcomed in your home. The two goats will provide you with all the goat cheese you ever want...being a vegetarian, that should bring a smile your way. The small pig will just make do, eating what ever left over you care to offer him. Mister Dovzhenco will be you special guest, one you can share coffee and all the stories you have gathered throughout the 4000 thousand years since you gave life to him in this wonderful work of art! :-)

Well firstly, Mr. "D" is looking quite good and really pretty chipper for one who's been hanging out in a corner for 4000 years. Like Johnny, I can visualize you with - what was it again - Photoshop version - 00001.26354.2 (basically a cave wall and some charcoal on the end of a burnt stick..) then posting it to Renderosity 00.00000002368742.7 (a slice of skin from a dead brontosaurus cured in the sun for 2 or 3 years). He's quite the stout fellow, and it's good to see he's hung with things so he can bring us all a big smile!

I always love reading your wonderful comments, Mark - and I always learn something about my art - and myself - through your insightful eyes, my friend! You are a Rembrandt with words, Mark. They're as full of color as any painting in any museum.
