Description

The first picture I have posted since June. My condition causes me to feel sometimes that the world is too much to handle, and I react by withdrawing as much as possible from the world. In Kentucky I had created an environment in the wilderness which gave me just what I needed at such times, but here in Tennessee I am in a more populated area, and I have to pull my boundaries in much closer to achieve the isolation I need. I have basically spent the summer on my front porch, on which I’ve created a small refuge, a place where I can find my balance. I have been taking photos all this time, and now I will begin posting many of them. Think of it as a series; “The World as Seen From My Porch”. I spot faces and figures in some of the pictures I take, although I don’t have nearly the strong penchant Andrea does for that. I wonder if she will see what I do in this nascent thunderstorm; an enormous griffin crouched on the horizon, head turned directly toward me, feathery mane spread expressing an interest in me that makes me more than a little uncomfortable. This cloud was on the Eastern horizon with a clear sunset behind me. The reflected light filled the East end of the porch with a wonderful, warm glow, which first drew my attention to the sky. I quickly grabbed the first camera at hand and started shooting.

I do see it, Charles, and he doesn't look too scary to me, but as you say very inquisitive. It is probably quite a challenge to be fierce and pink! So glad to see you back here again!
