Description

No story; just another doodle. It features the same terrain that I used two postings back about the first true colonists on Mars. I do want to stress that the background is a three-dimensional terrain and not just a photo. The shuttle is by Tippy and can be found at ShareCG. Also the pilot, if you look closely (and you really should ZOOM this one for the details), you will see another of ExprssnImg's "Andromeda" android figures (Poser Addicts) with Wayii's free texture for same (ShareCG). As with the previous render, the human figure is one of Predation's "MU14 lorez" people without the helmet. Just in case you might be wondering where the people in the previous Rupes Tenuis posting were located, I'll show you. From a point on the Auger 01's nose a line runs left. The darker area is the edge of a broad chasma. Directly above that line in the dark area is an even darker line moving roughly parallel to the edge of the chasma. Draw an imaginary line along the back of the letter "R" in "Auger" on the shuttle nose to the edge of the nose. Directly below that point, that darker brown line mentioned above meets the left edge of the shuttle. The camera was located about a "Letter's wideth" straight down from that point. It would have faced toward that southeastern edge of the closest glacier ice cap (the one in the lower-left corner). I was very pleased with this render. For once, everything worked out exactly the way I wanted it to look. Thanks to all who have visited, especially those of you who have taken the time to make comments. Jeremy

Cool detail... I usually generate my terrains using heigtfield maps from mars, imported into terragen it generates the real "Landscape"..the Polycount is enormuos but its the real thing I used Mars Geometry in my short feature (obvious i sumulated another planet, well moon actually) but its mars geometry. Have a look I think its pretty amazing what a layman can do nowadays with the data NASA delivers
