Description

Love this new outfit for M4! Got an old computer and nervous about the high resource requirement of the fur pieces? No problems. Read on: A while back I did a very similar render using Powerage's female barbarian outfit (which I fiddled and fiddled with to make fit M4 as best I could). True to their word, the Powerage folks just released the M4 male version. Yayz! It was slated for February, but I didn't expect to see it so early. Looks great. Like the female version it has lots of fur, so it can bog down your resources if you're using an old machine. To their credit, the Powerage folks dutifully warn you about this on the product page, and even include non-fur versions of each piece in the product - very nice! As you can see, my old machine (curse it to Hades) handled it with no problem, so don't let an old machine stop you from buying it. If you're running on an ancient machine like I am, and are worried that buying this resource-heavy set will crash your computer, I've got some good news. I'm running an ancient (pre-multicore technology) 10 year old Windows XP Pentium 4 (2.8) GHz machine with 3 sorry gigs of RAM, and it's pretty much as functional as a paperweight at this point. (I've said recently that it was 8 years old. Going back and looking, it's actually older than that. Ouch.) I'm also running Poser 8 on it. Unlike the previous barbarian render I did with the V4 outfit, this time I turned off the visibility of the fur in ray-tracing and rendered the whole thing. It took an astonishingly short time of 15 minutes to render. Then I spot rendered the fur parts individually with ray-tracing on and composited in Photoshop. Took less time altogether than most of the stuff I do, since I render everything all at once 99% of the time. No crashing, no problems. The only downside is that as soon as I added the first part of the outfit that had fur, my system slowed to a crawl. REALLY slowed to a crawl, to the point where I had to type in numbers instead of using the dials. Not surprising on this old machine. Adding more pieces of fur didn't add to the initial slowdown, so that's good. So add and pose the hair, if applicable, before adding anything else to your scene if you've got an old computer. Problem solved. I tell you all that to tell you this - if you like this outfit, but have an old machine and are afraid of the heavy requirements, don't fret too much. Works for me. Plus, Powerage helpfully added non-fur versions in the package in case that's a breaking point for you. All in all, I highly recommend this sexy outfit for M4. (I also recommend the female version, because the metal loincloth in that set is a must, even if you fiddle to get it to fit M4.) Big thumbs up!

Believe it or not, the hair is a prop from about 5 years ago. It's a freebie someone made years ago. It's the first hair I ever got when I first started out. It's got some anime morphs to it. It's originally for Aiko 3, but easily fits just about any character. I'll have to look up the name and get back with you. It escapes me at the moment. Not sure if it's still out there on the internet.

Great image and nice use of the Mitsu Hair for A3. Now I'll leave him to rule over his icy demesne while I curl up to a nice warm wood-stove. Have a great day.

Ok, I had to hunt this down for a minute because it's been so long since I got it. The hair is called: Mitsu Hair for Aiko And it's not free anymore. It's $15 at Daz. I think it was probably part of the Aiko bundle that Daz used to give away for free years ago (but that they now charge for). Sorry about that. It'll cost you 15 smackers to grab it these days. I know it was free at some time, because I got it way back in my first week of using DAZ Studio before I decided to invest the money in this hobby and ended up with Poser a couple of weeks later. Everything I got pre-Poser I got for free. But if you've got an extra $15 laying around, I can recommend it. It's a good one for scenes like this when you want a character to have long hair flying out to the side. It comes with a bunch of style morphs and this is one of them.
