UPDATED:Â September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
Â
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
Â
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
Â
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Â
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I like the plane and the photo too. I figured it was a sea plane by the shape of the belly.

What a cutie! That is so attractive! (Golly, what am I saying?)

Oh, my! This is SO funny! I like the Donald Duck-like "beak" in front. Now, this is at home in all 3 elements - land, sea and air. I bet it can pass on a lot of streets! Really nice photo of this fun contraption. Keep up the good work! :-)

Very cool capture Bill!!

Catchy name! Honestly, I don't associate it with the clam at all, but it's cute, anyway. Nice proportions! I like your shot better than ones that show the whole thing. (Oh, now THAT's a surprise! LOL!) Somehow those long wings take away from the design. I don't suppose they'd consider ... nah ... never mind. :P
jayfar
Very nice capture Bill and everyone can see with the high wing.

Now that's interesting and different, it's been a bit quiet on the 'duck pond' since we moved the U-Boat....I wonder ;-) Sure looks like a fun way to sightsee, great catch Bill, you can now add 'Gweduck' hunter to your list of passtimes :-)

It's a sporty looking little plane, as airplanes go...I love the glow that seems to come off it, almost like Tara's style ;P Well done, Bill!

I know exactly what you mean Bill, even around here water access would be great. My brother was half-way through building a smaller version of this (single engine, pusher) when he was diagnosed with MS many years ago. It was sold to someone in Calgary who did complete it but I have not been able to track it down. We spent many hours thinking and talking about how nice it would be to set down on Lake Wabamun near our cabin (an original Edmonton streetcar).

Nice pic. I first thought it was a modified Super Widgeon by the thumbnail pic :)

I didn’t notice the amphibian nose until after I started to wonder why the high wings and engines placement. Sweet photo Bill.
