Description

A week ago, last Saturday, I was on my way to Treasure House. I was riding my bike as usual. I had just turned a corner and started down the road, where I saw a young girl with a medium-sized dog to my right, on the sidewalk. I had just gotten parallel to them when the dog broke free from the girl. I realized that my motion on the bike was the cause and I wasn't going fast enough to outrun the dog. I stopped to present myself as a non-threat, but the dog still attacked and bit my right leg. this picture was taken the day after the attack. This was the second time that the dog attacked a bike rider wihtout provocation. the owner was told after the first attack that the dog needed to stay in a high-fenced area; if it was to be in the front, it had to wear a muzzle and be secured so it wouldn't get past the property line. the owner had told the officials that the dog was going up to another city (this was a while back) but aggreed to the conditions. As far as I know, the dog was put down yesterday. I know some of you were curious as to what had happened so I thought I'd show you. This was the image that I had the Staff review and they said I could post it although I've posted my own warning thumb

Sorry that had to happen Mike, and hope your better soon. It's a shame when people can't be responsible with their animals. Sad to say but their lucky it was you and not some small child that could've been killed.

Oh yeah baby, the story, finally.... I've been waiting to hear how it all went down... gotta ask, have you had the erge to lick your balls or burry your nose is someones ass??? LOL... sorry, I gotta get my sense of humor out of the way first - lol.... I've been a dog owner every year of my life but maybe 4, so I've had a dog at least 40 years of my life... sounds like you did the right thing, ya know, stopping... I've had dogs come at me on bikes, use the bike as a wall all stand on one side of it, move the bike by picking it up to keep the dog away from you.... if the dog is still trying to get you, put the bike on top of him and kick the poop out of him - lol.... I know, doesn't always work... I had a pit bull come after me and it kept inching closer and closer.... shame the dog had to be put down, but that's the owner's fault, you had NOTIHING TO DO WITH THAT - ....so this was a week ago.... is tomorrows picture an update? we want to see the bruise factor - ya know, from an artist's point of view, not that we want to see your sexy leg or anything like that - lol... Hope you feel better.... oh, one last thing, did you really ask rendo if you could post this??? LOL It's not like deformation or amputation = lol.... I do like this shot though, from an artistic pov, you can see where the mouth outline is.... what about the rest of the Story? what went down after the bite? I bet it was a bitch to ride you bike, are you limping now?.... Thanks for sharing this violent incident of your life... and now? WE WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE TATOO DUDE!!! SHOW US YOUR TAT!!!

Wow, I am not sure why people(dog owners) don't learn and then they end up having to kill their pets because they didn't obey. So sad. Glad you are ok.

looks painful he had a pretty good hold of you it looks like what kind of dog was it? And Mikerson is right don't feel guilty about the dog being put down it was not your fault and it sounds like it was an agressive dog anyway.

Having been bitten several times through my life I can completely relate to this story...the sad thing is that there are no such things as dog problems....only HUMAN ones...... the responsibility completely lies with the woman not the dog....shame we can't put them down sometimes..... Sorry that you had to go through this friend, there are no nice dog bites.... cheers the dude with the scars to understand p.s. I still like dogs better than cats.....lol apologies to my cat loving friends

frankly, dogs can be very dangerous if their owners leave them loose and unattended. I hope you are OK now

Ouch, I hope you went to the Doctors for a shot. a bite is so easy to get a infection from.

Are you ok? When I had that cat bite last year I had to go to the hospital overnight for infusion. Infection was real bad. Sorry to hear about the dog. Always sad when an animal has to be put down. What happened to the owner? She should be smacked on the side of the head.

Please take care of this; dog bites can go bad. I agree with Mikeerson that it is the owner's fault: dogs can and should be trained to not bite! Plus the owner had warning and there were several things she could have done. Too bad they can't put the owner down instead of the dog. On a similar note, last year I went to the ER because my parrot really comped on me, and he's a small parrot!

OUCH!! That's gotta hurt! Sorry to hear you fell victim to such a disobedient owner. I've been bitten a couple of times, not as severe as you though! I do occasionally howl at the full moon......but I'm sure you'll be just fine! P.S. Mikeerson is a nut!!

I assume the dog was tested for rabies. As a motorcycle rider I have had experiences like this. I used to carry a small spray bottle of amonia. Another thing that might work (although this doesn't seem to qualify) is to carry some dog bisquits in your pocket. I hope you are well on the way to recovery. If anyone asks about the wound you can always say, "I got these fighting for the honor of my lady. She wanted to keep it." (high school jokes, they never get old)

Wow, that looks sore Mike. It is too bad that there isnt some kind of qualifying test for people that want to be dog owners. Properly looked after and trained dogs will not attack anyone. The lady that owned this dog had no idea how to control and dominate her dog. They are by nature a pack animal, and feel much better when there is a pack leader in a dominant position. In the absence of a strong leader they feel anxious and that is when aggression shows up. Basically the poor dog had to be euthanized because he had an owner that was not prepared to own a dog. I'm glad you are doing better and that it was not any worse than it was.
