Description

A week ago, last Saturday, I was on my way to Treasure House. I was riding my bike as usual. I had just turned a corner and started down the road, where I saw a young girl with a medium-sized dog to my right, on the sidewalk. I had just gotten parallel to them when the dog broke free from the girl. I realized that my motion on the bike was the cause and I wasn't going fast enough to outrun the dog. I stopped to present myself as a non-threat, but the dog still attacked and bit my right leg. this picture was taken the day after the attack. This was the second time that the dog attacked a bike rider wihtout provocation. the owner was told after the first attack that the dog needed to stay in a high-fenced area; if it was to be in the front, it had to wear a muzzle and be secured so it wouldn't get past the property line. the owner had told the officials that the dog was going up to another city (this was a while back) but aggreed to the conditions. As far as I know, the dog was put down yesterday. I know some of you were curious as to what had happened so I thought I'd show you. This was the image that I had the Staff review and they said I could post it although I've posted my own warning thumb

That is one nasty bite Mike, and it must be very painful. Hope that you went to a dokter Mike and that you have a shot for against a infection my friend, you can get very ill from a bite of a dog or a cat. Hope all is well now with you....hugs Adrie.

nice tattoo lol.now jokes aside. the thing wich makes me sad is that we cannot put the owners down ,because the dog will only behave the way its educated or not-educated in this case. he had to go because he was a danger i agree fully. how about putting the 2 legged dangers down??. i guess you have been lucky that he did not got you in the face or the throat.the owners fault definitely. whats reassuring to me is that i hear that there are idiots everywhere because i had the impression all of them assembled here in the region as i see so many every day .but idiocracy seems to be a widespread disease. lol@ mikeerson artistical pov my ass.

wow, that certainly looks nasty! had a collie as a kid and wheels would make him go nuts--he would attack anything that had a moving wheel--great dog otherwise. who knows what goes on in their doggy heads. really can't blame the pooch, it's the owner that needs to be trained and it depresses me so when the dog is the one that receives the punishment. looks like you have an interesting tat going on there too :D

Does it still hurts, Mike? How are you? I'm shocked by what happened to you. It is good that you have shown it here, so we can sympathize with you. Wishing you a speed recovery from that troubles. Thinking of you, Mies.

Oh Mate !!!!!!....bet that hurt !!!!...sorry, hope not to offend any dog lovers out there, but the truth of the matter is that dogs will certainly act on instinct,to protect or hunt, but if a dog owner knows the breed and how to handle the dog properly then things like this would not happen in an urban environment. Hope you have had your shots Mike

Damn! Dude - that's just nasty - I'm hurting for you, Mike! I really have to maintain my cool... when I see or read about something like this, I'm inclined to hope the owner was put down along with the dog. I love dogs, but it really pisses me off when people do not or will not be responsible for thier pets. When they become a danger to other people (or pets) it's time for action. I once had a neighbor's LARGE black Lab charge me - in my own yard. The dog stopped short of the garage door. I was in the garage, and reaching for my axe. The dog backed away after the owner yelled at it. I stepped out of the garage with that axe in my hand, and told him if that happened again, he could come pick up the pieces.... I also told him my next conversation would be with Animal Control. That's a $500.00 fine in Independence... They moved out shortly thereafter (can't imagine why LOL). Hope that heals up soon, my friend - you have got to be in pain. Take care of that wound...

ope you better soon! The mistake was not the animal but the girl should have paid more attention to the reactions of the animal! I'm protective of animals and always disappointed me with pet owners! zillion hugs !!

Oh man, Mike, I'm so sorry, and I'm so sorry for the dog, and a POX on the owners for not complying with the law. Damn. I hate that. And who pays? you and the dog. Not the dog's owners. Yet, there really is nothing else that could've been done. The dog is a threat, it could do serious damage to a small child on a bike. My thought is that the owners should be SERIOUSLY fined,I mean SERIOUSLY, not just a few hundred or a few thousand dollars. THEN maybe people will take things like this seriously. It was not your fault or the dogs. The owners should be chained and muzzled. I hope you heal without any problems, and I hope you don't have flashbacks. My Gracie Anne was attacked, ripped to shreds, right in front of our house by a dog that was out of control, cost us a couple of thousand in vet bills to put her back togther. Yes, I got the bills paid finally by the other dog's owner, but I had to go to court to fight for it. And THAT dog is still in the neighborhood, and still occasionally gets lose. I still get flashbacks ... and Gracie Anne has been gone over two years now.
