FE & PS (classified as Work in Progress because... we all are)
....and to all those who continue to love him, remember him, and have been and remain, inspired by him (it was unavoidable, wasn't it?), on this day which marks two years since his passing.
For those who didn't know Dirk or his phenomenal talent, you can view his gallery here (thank you Mark):

And since Dirk and I can no longer share music back and forth, and I think at least some of these guys' stuff might have eventually wound up in his iPod if he had his say..a sweet song I'll share instead with you, all of his friends...and most especially, his wife Linda, and his nephew Mark.

I didn't know him, but if you loved him, then I know I would have also.
Wonderful!! :)
Wonderful tribute!!!
great tribute, and yes, we remember him. he is still on my comp in xd!
A perfect image!
That's a lovely piece, my instinctive thought was "It looks like a beach" which seems even more appropriate after reading who it's dedicated to. Superb, and a wonderful dedication, too.
Wonderful dedication. I did not know this gentleman but looked through the gallery you posted just now. I can certainly see why you are honoring his memory. His skill was a rare talent.
Hard to believe it's been 2 years, Excellent tribute. A buddy of mine that lives in Austin TX was telling me about seeing SeaBear at South by Southwest there earlier this year, said they were quite unique. Peace
All is PERFECT on this dedication !!! Very moving and touching !
Lovely and touching dedi Nancy, it really moved me. I'll check out his gallery
marvelous image! and great tribute!
Wonderful sentiment. He is remembered by many.
Nods in agreement. A wonderful fractal, and a moving sentiment.
Shining work.
nice tribute!!!
A beautiful tribute to a great artist.
First the video & song are mysterious & beautiful, with images of life emerging and taking the most mystical shapes. As for your dedi, it's touching & beautiful, as one would expect from you, Nancy. And I remember your last one; and it's somewhat similar to this in that it had strata of waves rolling across vast expanses as you reached out to Dirk, perhaps in another world (as those long spaces would suggest). Yet here you have that same vision of waves across space, only this time it's much simpler, more direct, as if time has made it solid, carved in stone in the best sense of the word. I know this is a WIP, but I love how the rock of the bottom half (it looks like a cross section of a geological formation) dissolves into waves of air & wind & sky itself: It really does feel like a journey through the expanses between two dear friends. Because, while we don't see either of you in the image, it's the energies between you that we do see; and they are peaceful, inward, beautiful and assured. (Why assured...how do I explain...meaning that even after death, your connection is as solid as the earth itself & placid as the breezes traveling over it.) A very gentle tribute to your passed friend; and your hues speak of memory & peace mixed into one. My sorrow for your loss, and honor for the love you felt for your friend...I never knew him but, from what I've seen on RR, he must've been a very special soul...Beautiful, peaceful & very touching, Nancy.
Very lovely and peaceful. I love his work.
Sophisticate use of fractal!
Lovely ocean scene!
Oh Nancy, this brought tears to my eyes. There are pictures of him and his dogs at the beach, and looking at this .. I can see him there, the dogs romping in the water, walking on the beach .. and maybe they are. A beautiful song you chose to share with us. Thank you.
This is a wonderful dedication to a great artist. I think of him often. It's hard to believe that it has been two years.
A most beautiful, touched soft image!
Congratulations! This image has been chosen for the Fractal Window Weekly in the Fractal SubCommunity. You will find the announcement in the Fractal Forum.
Pour moi, la simplicité dans sa forme la plus pure.
What a lovely way of remembering Dirk. Has it already been 2 years? Yes, we all lost a wonderful artist and a lot of people a dear friend when he passed away. Thank you for this dedication, Nancy.
