Description

Scene created entirely in Vue 8. More polygons than I can count. Three terrains. One for the small island to the left, main one where the ecosystem with the flowers was placed and another one at the back to add a sense of depth. Trees were placed by hand, as were the aquatic plants in the foreground. The stones are a painted ecosystem. Tender time at full quality and very hight resolution was 8 hours on an overclocked Intel i7. Still not happy with the atmosphere. The light is too harsh and makes the plants look as if they're made of plastic. Any advice most welcome.

nicely done..and about the light: you can reduce the shadows if you edit the sun and you can reduce the lighting after prerender in the postworksettings, furthermore you can soften the sunlight in the sun settings, but this last option leads to a longer rendertime..smile.. Another option is to change the ambient color to a darker and more greenish one and in the athmosphere settings switch to more ambient light... maybe this helps a bit..

I really like this one. The composition is good, and I like the look of the plants. I think they look very real, not plastic. But that's just me. I like the deep shade under the trees. In full sunlight, shadows always look almost inpenetrable. I think it adds interest.
