Description

On Sunday when Bill and I were down in Snohomish, we walked along the riverfront. There were several park benches next to the pathway, and a couple of them were occupied by people who may or may not have had a fixed address. One woman we met told us about a camera case she'd found stuck in a tree after a recent flood. "Maybe it floated off someone's porch or something. It was a Canon with all the lenses and attachments and stuff," which she gave to her daughter who had expressed an interest in photography. Two men sitting on a bench greeted us in a friendly manner and asked that we take their picture. I turned around and snapped one shot off quickly, all of us engaged in mutual praise for a warm and sunny day as we contiued our walk. While the photograph of the two of them sitting there tells a story, I liked the separate portraits I got out of that one shot. They sounded like they'd been drinking most of the morning, but their conversation seemed to center around books they had read and which ones they might be willing to trade. You never know who you might meet when you go out with a camera!

I love what you've done with your original "snaped shot" but if you weren't at home with your new camera, you'd have missed this completely. I'll bet you are glad they asked you to, "Take our picture".

I like the way people react when you pull out a camera, but love the way they don't when they don't see you there. Some our best family reunion and family Christmas shots were done that way. Then they see the DVD, I always may DVD's, cd's haven't been big enough for a longtime. The family has gotten so much bigger. Anyway they always say " Hey I didn't know you even had your camera out" Great portrait Tara.

Great portrait. There is a certain freedom to being completely un-attached that has to be experienced to be fully understood.

The camera does tend to make us look twice at something we might otherwise choose not to see. Great portrait and crop, Clive
