As I remember it: Got a call from Brian Epstein the Beatle's manager wanting to know if I could come to New York and sing George's parts and play a little guitar on the upcoming Ed Sullivan appearance. George was suffering from a bad sore throat. Since the Fab Four and I had become good chums the summer before while I was bumming around Liverpool, I said sure I could. After the show we went and visited Bob Dylan to party. As it happened: In 1964 the Beatles had number 1 hits and were especially popular in England. In fact, on April 4, 1964, the Beatles had the top five songs on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart which is an achievement never equaled. They "invaded" America with an initial appearance of the Ed Sullivan show, a very popular Sunday evening show. The Ed Sullivan show had over 50,000 requests for tickets for the 729 seat theater. During the visit they actually did go by and party with Bob Dylan at the Delmonico Hotel where they sampled pot for the first time. Dylan couldn't wait to initiate them. The preparations to secure the hotel suite took half an hour before Dylan was even allowed to produce the grass. The doors were closed and bolted, and towels from the bathroom were stuffed into every crevice and crack. The blinds were pulled tight and the drapes drawn against the Park Avenue traffic. Finally, a bemused Dylan was allowed to roll the first joint. Dylan lit the joint, gave them instructions on how to smoke it, and passed it on to John. John took it from him but was too scared to try it himself and passed it on to Ringo, whom he called "my royal taster". Ringo Held onto the joint and finished it himself. Ringo started laughing first and set the others off. Like many novice pot smokers they found many trivial things funny. Dylan watched for several hours as the Beatles broke each other up, sometimes with something authentically funny, often at nothing more than a look or a word or a pause in the conversation. Notes: This is an old set of characters that were released by 3dpmr for Poser 4. I had to do some changes to make them work in Poser Pro. Fixing up textures, moving things around, etc. It was rendered in Vue, but, since this really is a classic Poser scene, I thought would cross post over in Poser. This is the second Rockumentary which is great fun for an older rocker like me.
