Description

Hello friends and visitors, no declaration here, only one thing: This wall is more then 700 years old and in a good shape. The medevial builders and handcraftmen left these holes in the wall, when they finished their work. They were once needed for their wooden constructions. Now they are occupied by birds. Havelberg, Brandenburg, Northern Germany in may 2008 Thanks for your interest. Bill

I like the textures of the wall, the harmonious colors and the two birds, who look like friends although looking different. A poetic shot!

The birds do much the same over here in the UK Wolfgang, before I read your narative the thought went through my head, this is an old building and the wooden beams have either burnt or been removed. When I was a teenager I spent many happy hours in derelict mills, playing whith others of the same age. One of these had been burned down and just the shell remained. I remember trying to get up on the topmost point left standing because a Kestrel had made a nest there. I never did make it, at the time I was dissapointed but later on reflection I was glad that I didn't. As a young teen there is no telling what I would have done, maybe stole the eggs, I can't really say but I'm glad I didn't make it. Excellent capture and wonderful old stonework, beats modern brick any day. Bravo!!!!!

I love old buildings, especially castles.... this one is beautiful and if it could talk to us I bet it would have some tales to tell.... as for the birds, I have 2 parakeets and you're right, they have a language all their own....beautiful work my friend!

Excellent capture and I enjoyed reading your narrative a lot, to get a better understanding why this cute couple have taken shelter in this hole! Very nice work, Wolfgang!
