Description
There's some media uproar here since Sunday, when a celebrated talkshow host and former news magazine anchorwoman finally admitted what everybody knew for years: she and her best friend, a university professor and ex state politician, are more than just 'best friends'.
'Yes, we are a couple' she answered a journalist's question.
Commentators in yellow press releases as well as high rated serious newspapers ask lots of useful questions like 'Why has she admitted it now?'; 'Why has she told a notorious yellow press paper - and not us?'; 'Does she feel safe enough now?' (my addition: to admit such a shameful truth); 'Is this the end of political talkshows in Germany?'; 'Why do gays and lesbians always ask for special rights?' (my addition: she did ask for nothing...)

I`m a fan of Anne Will, I might even say I had a light crush on her. sigh What a loss to the male world. That's what straight women must feel like when another good-looking chap has his coming-out ;). And yet, funny as that is, I suddenly have the feelig of being "closer" to Anne Will than before - because now I know she looks at women in pretty much the same way as I do. Anne Will keep rocking, that's for sure. And a fine looking couple they are :D

She´s definetly a loss to us. There are not so much woman who have brains without being arrogant. Nevertheless I wish her and her girlfriend all good and I don´t understand the uproar in the media, or that sexual orientation is still a topic at all.

Ach ja, das leidige Thema, entsetzlich, skandalös, die Welt geht unter und hach, wie aufregend doch gleichzeitig... Es wird Zeit, daß dieses Thema endlich belanglos wird, die Fortpflanzung muß ja schließlich nicht mehr auf natürlichem Wege gesichert werden, und ist es nicht schlußendlich völlig egal, wer mit wem??? Wether or not orientation is still an issue, it shouldn't be. I mean.... people have been open about being homosexual for a long time. I don't think it's anyone's right to judge someone based on their orientation. I know I don't. Even our P.M in the 70's said "The government has no business in the bedrooms of the nation." I do hope all people can be so tolerant someday. Hugs Doro!!! - Matt

Beautifully done, both women have real character! And while things are perhaps not perfect now, at least they are much more open and accepting than many previous times (ie. it is no longer a criminal offence!). Good luck to 'em!
