Description

Thanks for stopping in... After a long string of skin studies and rendering images for the tutorial it felt nice to kick back and do something less serious and focused.. so we have "Red Sonja" the fantasy chick in the chainmail bikini. Yes she's gratuitious and I know the character is supposed to use a sword - but I was out for fun here. The hair kind of drove the rest of the theme. Character is Nanette by Danie and Marfano. This texture setup also features custom dispacement maps to make the chainmail bikini *pop* a bit and some I did custom work on the sub-surface scatter control maps so that the skin looks more like skin while the leather and chainmail do not. Pose and hammer from DM's Land of Sorrow. DAZ products include hair; "Xylia Double French Braids" by April, background; "the Courtyard" and lighting; "Light Dome Pro (daytime high rez)" by Dreamlight. ****************** A very big thanks to everyone who took the time to leave comments and fav images last week! It really pleases me to have folks enjoying the art - especially when work is being such a pest. Many thanks also to everyone at DAZ Artists Guild for the support and encouragement. ****************** As always, constructive critique and suggestions for improvement are most welcome, if you just want to throw tomatoes that's fine too.

Love the pose, nice lighting and I can't complain about the character either. Overall well done! Nice work on the textures here, though I still prefer conforming clothes over 2nd skins if at all possible (even though I also have some by DM and they look great). In any case, great work here.

wonderful... no tomatoes here, lol.. I love the way you got her skin and clothing to pop, call me crazy, but what really makes it real is that little mole on her stomach, it actually stands out, crazy, I know.. great work

Beautiful work! The effect of the displacement was well worth the effort. This is proof that going the extra mile can produce worthy results.
