Description

I hadn't been there since the day I'd left the police. It looked unchanged. Dirty, old, worn out. But then, it hadn't changed at all during the years of my service why should it change now. The receptionist gave me a smile and a vistor badge. I went upstairs. My old office. 'Hello Bonnie.' 'Sam! Now that's a surprise.' She frowned . 'Yeah, it's been a while...' 'Four months and five days since you stepped out of here to be exact. And seven months, eighteen days since...' 'I know, Bonnie and I'm sorry. Besides that, how's the balance? Do I owe you or do you owe me?' 'You owe me, Ms. smartass. And a lot, as you very well know.' 'Would you do me a favor though, Julia?' I hesitated. 'A professional favor?' Julia looked into my face for the first time. 'Maybe just to get you out of my sight as soon as possible...' 'You're the worst liar in the whole department,' I smiled vaguely. 'Ever were.' 'And you're the best. Best liar, best cheater, best... Anyway, what do you want?' 'I need information about two persons. Lola Vavoom and an ex husband called Tony Brunetti, supposed to live in Baltimore.' 'Ah. You do divorce cases now...' 'It's not a divorce case. It's about a painting.' She waved. 'Don't tell me, hunny. I'll see what I can do. And don't call me. I'll call you.' 'Thank you, Bonnie. I'm much obliged.' I got up to leave the room. When I had reached the door she spoke in a low tone. 'Do you think we could..?' she paused. 'Go to hell, Samantha Baton!' I closed the door. ...tbc... ***** For some reason this was very hard to do. Not the image - though I had a hard time to find the right room and furniture - but the text. Dialogues suck in a foreign language *LOL* I'm not sure if I found the right tone and would be really happy if I could write it in my language. Would be difficult enough... ***** Thank you for looking and reading and thank you for your supportive comments! They mean a lot to me!

Yea Doro - my apologies I do not read German well enough nod You could always do both version - German and English for those who are lucky enough to know German (and english too) ... ? So there's an idea :) I love how the scene looks quite run down - it is hard to find the "perfect" objects to go into your scene nod but you've done well here. I am enjoying The Sicilian Sparrow Story :) Am looking forward to see the next one ... and the next ... and the next :) Cheers Tina

Well done scene. Moves the story along and pops up new questions too. Such as...who's that in the picture on the wall. :) Maybe we'll find out...I'll stay tuned. :)
