Description

This a traditional drawing. To show another of my styles. It's my partner's daughter Traci. (Her graduation picture actually. the original was more centered but it was too big for the scanner and so it was off center ... but I think it works. What do you all think? Oh, it was done on fine art paper using Prismacolor pencils.

It is awesome! Your skills with pencils is fantastic and I only wished I had one tenth of your talent. Give us more, Boni!

Doro, thank you so much. I'm building a new web page (it's part of a proposal for a grant I'm hoping to recieve) and I've scanned in some drawings and more of my work that hasn't gotten up here yet ... so ... I'm trying to put one image up a day for a while untill I have my whole gallery up. Your kind words are always so welcome, dear friend. :)

Wow. You do the kind of work that makes me SURE I'm not really an artist! Different league, different world. Center, off-center, whatever. This is totally amazing!

Auntietk: Let me tell you a secret. An artist who was visiting my college many years ago said something very simple. If you really want to be an artist, you can be an artist. IF you are willing to put the work into it necessary to do so. He went on to say anyone can draw. I believe this. There are wonderful books out there that can get any serious student started. The bottom line is are you driven enough to take the time and energy to become the artist you want to be. I have been drawing since I was 2 years old, or so the stories go ... that is I've been drawing for 50 years. I'm driven to draw (or render as the case may be) and I feel empty or unfullfilled if I go very long without that process. I suppose that might be a difference. You model in Blender I see. I have done minor modeling. (boolean in Bryce and Vue), Amorphium, a little HASH, and a class in Lightwave ... but I never really got involved in that side. I've wanted the finished image, the feel, the character ... lighting ... mood ... color ... emotion of the piece to come through. It's the finished image that is important to me ... and the process of creating ... not so much the tools I use. I see you also do needlepoint and 2d work as well. You are very talented. I have to say, you ARE and artist. Don't undervalue yourself. Your florals are wonderful.
