Description

Looking through the 50 odd, half done paintings I have, crying out for attention, I thought that it was about time to have something in the WIP gallery ! It might give me incentive to do something about the neglected side of my work. These paintings were done to study technique. The pewter pot is the only finnished part, which I rather like , if I say so myself ! Oil / Canvase

smiling I like the pewter pot, also! This makes me think of the dinner table in Alice in Wonderland, with all the dishes moving around when you least expected it.. What is the origin of the name?

That is some amazing pewter. I have been fussing around with metals lately so I am particularly primed to appreciate it. I also like the critters. The pastel colors give them a candy-like festivity even if they are disappointed.

Very nice. wish i could paint as good. My only comment is that the pot seems to be reflecting a sunny window, and imagining to be the main source of light, I wonder if more shadow is needed in front of the pastel vases. But, as you said, it's a work in progress. I like that youve mixed the old (pewter pot, linen cloth) with the very new (the modern crystal vases) but the new is not so happy, is it. It's like you're making a statement about the past and future.
