Description

Photoshop & PSP7 Brushes courtesy http://annikavonholdt.com The inspiration for this comes from the poem "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" by Oscar Wilde. Wilde (1854 - 1900 ) was a poet, pundit, novelist and critic. He is most famous for his novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray". He was jailed in England for homosexuality, and after being released wrote "The Ballad of Reading Gaol." FYI : The word 'gaol' is just a British variant of our common word 'jail' and is pronounced the same. Here's a small excerpt from the poem (it's a long poem, but well worth the read)...Wilde has some great commentaries on incarceration : "I know not whether Laws be right, Or whether Laws be wrong; All that we know who lie in gaol Is that the wall is strong; And that each day is like a year, A year whose days are long." Thanks for viewing & comments and hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday *S* ~Mina

Beautiful overlays. I love your color palette. I especially love the gold/silver layer. Your colors and design lead the eye to the center so nicely. Excellent work Mina.

This upload has struck me more than some may know. I am a lesbian. There are people who don't understand & aren't comfortable with even speaking to a homosexual... let alone want to be their friend. Example: While in Barnes & Noble last night, I saw a woman pick up the book for the movie "Broke Back Mountain." When I asked her if she had seen it yet... she replied "They're so cute! I just don't want to see them being homosexuals." I told her to have an open mind and walked away. Thank You Mina and all others who have open minds. ( I love this image and info by the way.) kiss

Truly outstanding work Mina. Taboo is but a word to those who misunderstand love. For the body is but fresh and true love cares not for gender. Bravo!!!...:))

Splendid work Mina! Your base color choice is perfect in shades of lavender and purple (colors signifying that which is hidden, or unknown, sometimes accompanied with an intense desire to explore). Simply an excellent work of art!
