Description

Hi Y'All *S* Today's post is something a bit different. Leaving tomorrow to go see the King Tut exhibit in Ft. Lauderdale so I thought it apropos to do an Egyptian pic. Also, here's a little info on Akhenaten. Hope everyone has a wunderbar weekend !!! Hugs... ~Mina *** 1369-1332 BC: Amenhotep IV - Akhenaten The Pharaoh Akhenaten was known as the Heretic King. He was the tenth King of the 18th Dynasty. Akhenaten was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who reigned about 3,500 years ago. He made some major, but rather short-lived changes to various aspects of ancient Egyptian culture, the most notable one being his religious revolution. Akhenaten also made major changes in the ancient Egyptian art style, and presented himself in a very different manner from any of his predecessors. Akhenaten ruled in the eighteenth dynasty, which seemed to be an age of revolution in ancient Egypt. Only a few reigns before his had been the reign of Hatshepsut, the most famous (but not the only) female pharaoh. Akhenaten's strange appearance and mysterious behavior have made him the subject of much passion and controversy in the last century or so. Akhenaten is all things to all people--to some he was a fanatical lunatic, to some he comes across as a strange, eccentric young man whose behavior was strongly influenced by his mother, to others he was a Christ-like visionary and to still others he was simply someone who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and who really had nothing to do with the dramatic reformations that went on during his reign.

When the original show was in San Francisco , I worked for the museum on a temporary bases and in order to keep the insurance down, employees slept in the museum. I slept right by King Tutankamen's mask. What a great night that was! Hope you enjoy the show. It is once in a lifetime event.

I am not for or against Al Gore but I think this would apply to him. If one see the folly of their thinking and changes their mind it is much better than running rough shod. the bush cronnies rode that issue into the ground that Gore could not stay with the same concept or idea. I did not mean to turn this into a politico circus. your art work is excellent and your quotes

All that show wisdom are held up high. Yet if this wisdom goes against the many "He/She is a fool!". We as humans have changed religions and cults like the changing weather, "who gives us the right to change sacred knowledge??" I follow my heart and dreams, and yes people have called me a fool. But I am a happy fool!!! Amazing artwork Mina, peace be with you!!!
