The Renderosity Gallery of the Week for March 7, 2016, is the Softimage XSI Gallery.

A huge cry of despair went up from the Softimage xsi community when Autodesk announced that they were no longer going to continue to develop or upgrade Softimage. That was in 2015. A year later, the community is somewhat fractured, but still strong. Why? Because Softimage is a great program with a unique workflow.

You can see examples of what makes Softimage xsi such a good program in the Renderosity Softimage xsi gallery. There are so many great art works in this gallery that it's hard to choose only 14 examples. Personally, I really like the character creation work done by Softimage artists. Especially by artists german_zavitkov and sorensangbam, who create remarkable creatures/people using Softimage.

Autodesk has a somewhat complex arrangement for buyers who want to purchase a Softimage xsi license (you cannot purchase one directly any more). Check this link for more info, or go exploring on the net.

And don't forget to visit the Renderosity Softimage xsi gallery for more interesting work.
