Subject: Lightwave Discovery edition on 3D World Mag CD

This ful version of Lightwave 7.5 is free with 3D World mag. The only restrictions are that you can't save models with over 400 points and renders have a small watermark. BazC

Actually, you can't even MAKE models with over 400 points from what I've seen. I was able to import LWO's with higher point counts though. 3DWorld has also provided a demo of Max5 in issue 31 (one of my pics is in that issue...no credit given though). Thanks for posting!

Hmm, the mag just says models with over 400 points can't be saved, hope the mag is right :o) However I can't even install the Mac version from the CD, don't know if it's because I need Quicktime 6 or not yet but everything else installs OK. I'm a bit p'd off, it's the only reason I bought the mag :o( Congrats on the work being published, I'd be SERIOUSLY p'd at not being credited though. I'm a traditional media illustrator and I get SO irritated by publishers lack of consideration for artists (Rant over) Baz

Well, I tried the demo and used bandsaw on a model once and was told it exceeded the maximum number of points allowed. w Not a good sign methinks but give it a try when you can. (worse comes to worse, you can download the demo from Newtek directly) Thanks for the congrats. It's the second time they used that Rhino pic but for some reason they just didn't put my name with it this time. I sent 'em a...nice....email about it. :) Happy model making.
