Subject: Bunches of clothes gone at DAZ

queri ( ) posted Wed, 13 March 2002 at 5:38 PM · edited Tue, 17 June 2025 at 3:04 AM

With all the beautiful romantic rooms available, I have had my eye on the Historical and Period gowns and their mappaks at Daz. I had to wait until I had a bit more money, after spending the wad on the romantic rooms.:))) Well, I go back to look at them and only the original period gown is still there. No Historical Gowns at all, no MAB mappacks of the period gown. Anybody know what's happening? I do know they are rearranging and moving things around to separate Victoria and Stephanie bunches-- I'm not sure why. Since Stephanie supposedly takes Victoria's clothing-- though not always too well.

Hello, The HistoricGowns for Vicki was my product with Texture Packs by Symphony. The Gowns have been retired from the web so that I can work on a new and more detailed and better posing versions. I also will be including more dresses that will take advantage of all we know Poser can now do. The fabric will move, they can sit and sway, etc. Also there had been a dreadful error in the writing of the original installer that didn't put the lace transmaps in the right folders. Most people who bout them don't even know there is transmaps for the laces of the texturepacks. Also I recently discovered that something became corrupted in the joint parameters of the EmpireGown. But mostly because I can make better dresses now that are more fitted and detailed I retired them. I will make it cheaper for people who bought the first HistoricGowns. I just didn't want to have anyone think I was trying to rip them off if they bought the original right before the new version was released. They should be out shortly. If you want them contact Steve at broker@daz3d.com They are still in the store just hidden. He can make them available to you if you still want them. Daz is currently cleaning up the store and it's inventory. This may explain some of the other removals. Anton

There was a notice to brokers that they are going to be adjusting their brokering policies somewhat; this might be one result. If you took note of the creators, you can look in the members directory here and instant message or email them, or ask in the forums if a specific product is/will be available here or elsewhere. Or even just describe it, someone is likely know who made it. I'm sure these folks will be happy to hear you want their product and find a way to let you buy them!

Ha, Anton, hit that post button an instant faster than I did!

I'd be more than happy to wait for better ones, Anton. In fact, I'm kinda glad now that I bought the rooms first. Now, I wonder if the same thing is occurring for Mab's mappacks, as the Period gown is still up, but clicking on the mappacks brings an error. Thank you so much for answering so quickly. And for doing New Ones!! I keep thinking Dragonessa would make a great evil stepmother.

Queri, Evil stepmothers are supposed to be beautiful on the outside... otherwise, how would they find husbands? Anton, I'm glad that you are reworking the clothing... and looking forward to seeing what can be done now. :)

Oooooh! I'm looking forward to the new gowns Anton! I was just about to buy those myself to use in my on-going Dune project. I can't wait to see the new versions! ;o)

pendarian ( ) posted Wed, 13 March 2002 at 11:57 PM

Oh Anton! The new versions sound wonderful!! I can't wait now :)

pendarian ( ) posted Wed, 13 March 2002 at 11:58 PM

And by the way Anton, what folder did the transmaps end up going into so I can find them? Pendy

PheonixRising ( ) posted Thu, 14 March 2002 at 12:42 AM

The transmaps where part of the Texture packs. I beleive they created a false folder in the c: drive called Templates. It was a real disaster. Was months before I noticed the mistake with the Installer. Between that and that aweful woman who made a dozen dresses out of my meshes and put them in FreeStuff here I decided to just pull them. I forget her name. We stopped her thanks to a tip from a client but the downloads were already over 1000. Was working with someone named GG or somthing like that. It amazes me people can steal and then have the nerve to deny it. I forgot her screen name here though. Anton

Oh, I know who you are speaking of. Well, I'll go look around in my poser directory and see if I can find them. The new versions sound very exciting tho', it will be nice to have some "sit down" versions of decent clothing without it flying in the faces LOL!! That could get embarassing couldn't it? Are you working on your Empire Dress also? I just love that dress :) Pendy

PheonixRising ( ) posted Thu, 14 March 2002 at 2:34 AM

There original two dresses will be redesigned as well as at least three additional dresses. I will be using changing geometry for skirt and bodice variations as will as some fun details like multi-layer drapes and matching shoes and slippers. Of course shortly after I'm sure my shadow will make a version of his own. :) Anton

Like Anton with his clothes, my texture making skills have improved and though I still look at the period gown mappacks fondly, I felt they no longer met my current standards, so I had them pulled. I will be making new mappacks along the same lines, but better and for more advanced products. The period gown was exquisite and versitile for it's time, but I'm sure the maker of that dress could even do better now. There is a shift going on at Daz, but mine was a personal decision that would have happened regardless.

Anton, You have a shadow that's not under your control?? Uh oh better get out the sewing kit. AR

???...Peter Pan - right?

hauksdottir ( ) posted Fri, 15 March 2002 at 5:47 AM

Right. Wendy sews his shadow back onto his feet. It's a great image: a little boy standing on one foot and trying not to wince while she stitches up the other.
