Subject: Curtains for Penguinisto's Tub

As promised, I've created a shower curtain for Penguinisto's bathtub prop. It comes with hooks, liner, and about half-a-dozen morphs. The curtain has a choice of two patterned textures and one plain texture. I'd make more, but I'm lazy.

Every component is mapped to a separate material, so you can play around with colors, transparency settings, etc. For instance, if you don't want the liner, you can set the transparency settings to maximum to make it completely invisible. The hook-holes in curtain and liner are fully modelled, so you don't need tranparency maps unless you want to make a slasher flick. :)

Morphs include Slide Left, Slide Right, Draw Left, Draw Right, Length, and two special morphs to fold the curtain against the sides of the tub. Pictured above is one of the Draw morphs.

Here's a closeup of the hooks and one of the alternate textures.

I've noticed a minor bug in the Slide morphs, but it won't be difficult to repair. I should have the entire thing finished in a couple of hours.

" It comes with hooks, liner, and about half-a-dozen morphs. The curtain has a choice of two patterned textures and one plain texture. I'd make more, but I'm lazy." Whew! If thats lazy, what could you accomplish on a GOOD day :-)) Great work!

Beautiful detail!

Thanks, leather-guy.

Here are some images of the two morphs used to "conform" the curtain and liner to the sides of the tub. One morph puts both curtain and liner on the outside of the tub; the other separates the two; curtain outside, liner inside.

If Penguinisto is still willing to host this, I'll have everything wrapped up and ready to email by morning. At the moment, I'm not sure what the final filesize will be, as I haven't converted it to a Poser prop yet. The curtain/liner meshes are rather dense to allow for all the folds, and also to permit end-users to go crazy with magnets. Hopefully, it'll be less than a megabyte.

In the meantime, any curtain-texture requests? (Okay, maybe I'm not so lazy!!)

... Posettes?

Just kidding .... How about seashells?

And what am I gonna do to keep the water off my "ground" when I use Peng's shower? Huh? Huh? Huh?

Okay, seashells it is for the fourth curtain texture.

Anyone else?

And what am I gonna do to keep the water off my "ground" when I use Peng's shower?

I thought that was the whole point of shower curtains, geep. Or are you hinting for a floormat freebie?

Texture suggestions? a black granny-with-upheld-knife silouette (a la Psycho) A plush cut-velour victorian wallpaper type texture (believe it or no, I've seen shower curtains with such a pattern - deep red with gold trim) 60's style designs with large simple overlapping geometric shapes in simple color themes. Avocado green leaf pattern anything William Morris repettitive "Ducks-in-flight" pattern woodgrain patterns of fish or dolphins or sailboats Softdrink logo Absolut Vodka ad stars & stripes barney big, bright daisys on a white or clear background pattern of smiley faces X-Files logo Poser box design grungy edge-stained texture with patches of soapsuds at the bottom & waterStreaks plaid baby blue with tiny pink flowers pattern of puffy clouds in a blue sky pattern of palm trees & sunsets deep blue with moon & stars pattern astrological style, with zodiacal symbols brushed metal/chrome (poly-foil) techno black-with-grey circuitry design (Ya had to ask.....;-)) Are you sure you know what lazy means?? - I'm beginning to suspect the concept is alien to you - G

As tempting as some of those are, they have copyright issues. I like the zodiac idea, though, so that'll be curtain texture #5. No more requests for now; the zip file will be large enough as it is. And yes, I'm quite familiar with the definition of lazy. You're speaking to someone who managed to sleep through almost the entire '70s. Wretched decade.

Little Dragon, that is absolutely fabulous. You had me going for awhile. I scanned up and down the thread several times to see which picture had a nude. If I squint really hard I can see the suggestion of a body behind the shower curtain in the first picture. But I had to squint real hard!! So don't sweat the nudity. I am really overwhelmed by the way some of my friends work together here. It's been a real joy seeing Penguinisto put this stuff together, and now to see you step in to help out as well!! This is my idea of an artists' community. Thanks, friends. Ron

LD - I got two words for you, 'mano: Send It. (huge grin) Seriously, that's one excellent job - You've got a LOT more patience than I do... the curtain is great, and those hooks are very nicely detailed! Oh, and Ron; you're right, which is why I post everything in Free Stuff as GPL licensed - if you can improve it, do it :) PS: I got a "super-secret" freebie project in motion now... I'll post an image of what I have so far, later on today. (hint - you can't exactly swim in it, but it doth hold water well.) /P

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Fri, 08 February 2002 at 10:49 AM

It's on its way, Penguinisto. 625KB zipped, includes five curtain textures.

Penguinisto ( ) posted Fri, 08 February 2002 at 11:01 AM

coolness - I'll go ahead and have it up by 11:30am MST (got a lecture to go do in a few minutes)... I'll send you the URL of the item and thumb so you can announce it in Free Stuff :) /P
