Have you seen this site? If not, then go check it out. Tons of VERY reasonably priced models. Lots are $2.95 on up. Some are free. Also this site has some good textures.

seems like everything there is in Max file format and not 3ds. The models are very very nice though. I wish I could use them! Maybe if I look longer I will see some in other formats. Thanks for the link , I have never been to that site before. :)
