Thanks. And yeah, I know I have to subdivide the hell out of it to get even a small effect, but sometimes that works enough to just get rid of the flat effect on edges. I'm so disappointed that they did not bother to prioritize something so important and I hope they realize that we need that for future releases to even be worth upgrading to. I'm tempted to skip P12 entirely.

Do I need to connect it to a Math node of some sort, or a Bump vector node or something before I plug it into the Displacement socket? Or do I just plug the map itself straight into that Displacement socket on the root node? I've found very few photo examples of shaders in the CyclesSurface node with displacement, since the PhysicalSurface node seems to work better, but the shader I'm working with needs separate Glossy and Anisotropic nodes and there's no way to do that with the PhysicalSurface root node. I suppose I could go without Displacement but I'd rather give it a try first before discarding it.
