Very rough example here obviously you would increase ring segment
on the sides
I did not bother with the Dsplmnt map for the top pattern on the cookie
but you get the point.
Cheers
Try using a B/W image of the oreo with the Vectorizer in C4D, maybe something like this:
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/35/Vector_Oreo.svg/266px-Vector_Oreo.svg.png

Excellent resource!!
Here is My attempt but I cant figure out how to smooth the hard edges
any Ideas???
Cheers
Quote - Had a play with displacement (couldn't find the vectorizor thingy) I think a better model would've helped and a bit more noise around the edge of the displacement map.
Following your settings i cant get the same results, even with the same displacement map using that same graphic. I can get the top to look good only on a disc. How did you model this? I tried using a cylindar as well. Thanks!
You're in luck, well kinda.
I didn't have the original picture used for the displacement, so I used the small one I included in the above image.
If you Google "oreo cookie vector" it'll give you a few pictures you can use as a starting point.
The file includes the small image, and was done in V11. I never upgraded and I don't work in the industry anymore so i'm unsure it will work in the latest version?
Any problems give me a shout and i'll answer it next time i'm here, probably in a couple of years!
Cheers
Rename the .zip to say .txt and you can upload it. Just put a note in your post that the downloader will have to change the file extension once it's downloaded.

Hmmm, that's strange... You could perhaps try a hosting service like http://www.tinyupload.com/ and then post the link here?

I want to create an oreo cookie. I know how to create the general shape, but when it comes to adding all of the texture, I am not quit sure of the bust way to do that? I am thinking a displacement map. I could get an actual cookie and scan in the top and bottom of the cookie. But how would I get the little ridges around the edges of the cookie? Thanks,
Steve
