Subject: Rendering over Background Image

Hey folks...

I don't do a lot of renders over background images, but I decided to play with HyperZoom, since its been gathering dust.

Got my scene all set up, tweaked out, etc.  Rendered.

Found what appeared to be a render artifact... a vertical line that went through the lower third of the render.  It even bisected a shadow... so I know its not in the background itself.

So I'm trying to figure out what caused this... checking the usual suspects, and I am finding no hints.

I changed the texture filertering on the Background shader to none... and my shadows disappeared! Changed it to fast and still no shadows.  Changed it back to quality and still NO SHADOWS!

Reloaded the appropriate light set, and STILL NO SHADOWS!

THere's just two lights in the set... one IBL and one Infinite with raytraced shadows.  I swear the only two things I touched were the texture filtering, and to increase the shadow blur from 0 to 1 (and the shadow were there after the blur increase)

What gives?

Thought of something else.

I used the PICK Creator Remove Ground script.  Don't know what actually does, so I don't know if this is causing my issue or how to undo it.

Blah... that's what it was.  Set the Ground's Visible off.  Problem solved.
