Subject: 3d visual effects / animation classes? online pref

so i've been wandering around these forums since forever ago :D learned just aout everything i know and all that was offered by the threads of people here :)

time to move up maybe? i've checked local schools around me, and it's either a 1 1/2 hour commute, or the classes don't cover anything for 3d (ya i live in a crappy town hehe)

so! any know links to good online classes? something for 3d animation, lights/textures, photo-realism would be a big thing since it's fun :)

and just to put it clearly, online class, something that the state would consider me to be a "student" and not a video from a guy in the basement....as useful as those oddly are (who would've known?)....just stating the direction i'd like :) ty

edit: i should probably add, classes for poser would be nice, carrara5 would be nicer since i tend to do more work in it, maya/3dsmax i dont have and would kinda like to avoid the pricey bill of buying :D but i'm open to any suggestions

So far as "formal" considered to be a student by the state type online courses I don't really think you will find anything other than looking into your local universites for distance training, or those correspondence courses that you see advertised on TV.

I can help you with some links for "information" education though.

So far as lighting goes, check out this thread:

So far as texturing is concerned, check out this thread for links to various tutorials:

Can't help you with animation though. It's not an area of interest to me and I don't really pay much attention to threads about animation.
