Most of the demo procedural terrains on the V5I disc use a simple approach to getting them to fill the scene... Make the terrain VERY big, position the camera at one corner and point towards the opposite. Because the detail on the terrain is independent of the terrains size, even enormous terrains show fine detail close to the camera. This is their big advantage compared to conventional terrains. -- Mark

hmm. Ok. So the terrains are not infinite then. I had made the assumption that the technology was similar to Mojoworld. The issue with the 6000x6000 terrain is that you still have a horizon line unless you position the camera just right. (ie. really low to the ground.) Plus you aren't getting the curved horizon that occurs in reality. Anyone have a good method they could go over. As I'm having difficulty getting realistic massive terrains. Or is it just tweak tweak tweak? Perhaps there is a better size for large terrains. What size was used in the terrains in the infinite demo? Brian

I'm doing the smart thing and as I save money, demoing Vue5. Would anyone be so kind as to go through a brief overview on working with the procedural terrains and getting them to fill the scene as demonstrated. I'd appreciate it. Brian
