Hello I am one of those users who had RayDream Studio 5.5 before. And there was a thing that you could use to apply any simple small little texture to anywhere in a model. You would first use like a selection tool Square, Oval, etc, put it on the surface you want, resize it to the desired size and then choose the texture to go in it. There fore for example,, you could make the iris of an eye. and easily apply it to a white sphere to make a simple eye. Is there such a thing in Carrara 3? Another unrelated question Also, is there an easier way to apply colors from the Browser menu to a model rather than dragging the sphere, which is quite big and doesn't let you see where you are applying the color. this can be especially frustrating if you want to drop color or texture into a small little area thanks

For the latter, try dragging from the Browser on to the name of the object in the properties tray, or into the object in the heirchary in the sequencer tray. Also, try selecting the object in the properties tray, then using the scrolling list near the top of the properties first page to select the shader from list of all shaders used in the scene. On the former, read up on the Layers tool (pg. 293). Works much like the Ray Dream version...but of course many more options.

I loved that "paint patch" option in Raydream. It basically still exists but you have to apply it in the shader room. I also don't think it's as nice and user friendly as the Raydream version. -Kix
