OK. Now that it's working can someone smarter than I explain the 3 coordinates? what value rotates the image by 90 degrees or 180 degrees? Is there a way to have the background show up in preview so I don't have to guess where the image is rotated to?
From what I remember of trigonometry: 90° = 1.57 (rad) = 100 (grad) = a quarter of a circle

Good news: the Background node parameters seem to be restored upon loading a scene, with Poser 12.0.276

Thread: "Cancel" Render issue? | Forum: Poser 12
I remember a time when cancelling a render used to take too much time for my taste. As I was using the "Separate Process", i was used to: 1. hit Cancel, 2. Kill the FFrender....exe using the task manager...

Saving the background shader as a preset doesnt work either. The rotation setting reset to 0,0,0
You've experimented that same effects as me. I suppose that the devs consider the atmosphere, the background and probably the universe objects as more or less read-only: editable as long as nothing important is changed, except when a scene is imported for example....
From what I've understood, these parameters are effectively stored in the PZ3 file (near the end) but it looks like they are not interpreted

Went for groceries. Turned the machines back on. Unticked render in separate process yet again. Y-Phil works now CPU/GPU.
Great ?

Windows programs are most of the time depending on dynamic link libraries, or dll. It exists a few programs that can list these dependencies. I've tried "Dependency Walker", and it gives this list, showing a few dependencies on powershell... Could it be ".net" dependent?
I don't know if the dependency walker is correct or not, but it shows also a few errors:
This could cause some problems under Wine.

My version is no trial. If a render is stopped before it finishes cooking it disappears period. It was my habit to let renders cook using progressive rendering and stop when It hit a resolution good enough for the task at hand. This is no longer possible. 2 diff CPU, RTX, GTX, graphics cards. Doesn't matter. Stopping a render before it finishes on it's own results in a grey screen or a grey screen with a few fully rendered sections that did not need as much time to fully resolve.
I agree, if rendering in a separate process, I disagree if rendering in the same process, from what I just tested before answering. Could it be driver dependant?

Thread: Ghostship and EZSkin Superfly materials non functional. | Forum: Poser 12
I'm still far from, for example, ghostship's incredible renders, but I manage to have something quite acceptable for me, for the skin (nothing else was changed).
I've started from EZSkin3, cleaned up everything not FF-related. IMO, it looks like the Scatter doesn't act anymore because its preview remained black, so that I replaced it with the Subsurface skin node. But with strange lighting on the side of each 3d part, reason why I tried to add this nodes arrangement for the specularity. All other values remains EZSkin's defaults. I'm really not sure if this makes sense or not. Funny side-effect: if the background node is set with a map, each preview of a root node reflects the map...
Disclaimer: except strictly skin-related parts, nothing has been changed. It took 2'17" for my card, using the OptiX renderer, and these settings:
Rather fast... ? That being said, each advice will be welcome.
