Subject: To Kupa, Starlet and all at CL. Sorry

BazC ( ) posted Wed, 07 August 2002 at 6:30 PM · edited Mon, 02 March 2026 at 7:05 PM

Over the last couple of days, along with the praise and excited questions, there's been quite a lot of complaining been thrown in Curious Labs direction, and I've been among those complaining.
It occurred to me that if it wasn't for their involvement in this community and willingness to answer questions they wouldn't have received so much flack. Compare their attitude to most other software companies.
So I'm saying sorry and thankyou for being so approachable and helpful!
Poser5 is going to be a huge success and I'll certainly be buying it when I've saved enough pennies!

Baz

I'm not with CL, but God bless you for your humility. Think of this - Kupa, the president of CL, has been here at the forum interacting with us. Could we expect such from Bill Gates @ a Microsoft forum? Well, it may be a little apple-orangish, but bear with me. Peace, Ben MessianicArt.com

BazC, I think I can safely accept on behalf of Curious Labs. No hard feelings whatsoever. Hope you love Poser 5! Anthony Hernandez Curious Labs

I'm happy about the pricing too. The $549 MSRP had a lot of people worried, but now that I see CL expects a $349 street price and very affordable upgrade pricing, I'm happy to see that Kupa really is keeping the price "in the tradition of poser". Sorry I doubted you guys! When that Mac version gets resolved, I'll be here waiting, $180 in hand. -Adam

Good Post BazC! It needed to be said. Cheers, All!

Yup, and I must join baz as I too have been nervous about the pricing. Looking forward to the release. Ok, forget the cigarette this time, I just want a big ol cigar.

Tombstone-brand cigars? Great packaging, cooler!

Oh dears! If we got offended everytime one of you grumbled in our direction, we'd all have very, very low self esteem. You also throw a lot of kindness our way (and brownies too in leather-guys case.) Take it from the girl that probably takes the most front line flack other than Steve (since I answer most of the email)...we know you guys love the product and you love us and how friggin great is it to be a part of this whole thing?! What other industry brings people together quite like 3d? I'm a 24 year old sociology grad who was on her way to Teach for America when I fell into this company...and I am finding everyday that I made the right choice. Night guys...its hard to keep up with y'all!

Bill Gates doesn't know what he's missing. And he would make a better product if he did come here at least for SoftImage. He certainly would know his market base better. This is still the best community anywhere on the Net. We have to work to make it eaven better. Q PS: hope my strippers made it to CL. Told them they were playing the KupaCabana. They were so excited. Nice gesture BAZ, great looking cigars Cooer.

Thank you CL for your dedication, kindness, support and just plain caring for your customers. Sharen

:) We actually EXPECTED strippers all day that day that thread about sending us stuff was posted...but none showed up. Probably for the best, gotta keep those engineers focused. Thank you for YOUR dedication, kindness and support via this community. 1 great email from you guys negates 50 horrible ones.

Well said, Baz. I was disappointed with some of the hysteria in the forums, especially regarding prices, as I reckon CL is a pretty unique company and I thought they at least deserved a chance to respond before being accused. In fact, a few days ago, I was tempted to start a 'Poser 5 - Eat Your Words Contest' to see if anyone would step forward. But the community always comes through in the end. Anuway, thanks for going ahead and saying it. You win 1st prize! LOL mac
