Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Mar 31 1:01 pm)
you do not have the cr2 files in the folders - go to posersoftware and download the poserfigures zip file from the legacy section.

They will be when he unzips them.
The obz contains the cr2, also? I never knew that. Thanks.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
Sorry, didn't understand. The Geometries files contain the obz and obj files. It's a zipped file. The cr2 file is merely a reference file that calls for the .obj and it is not in the Geometries folder. In his post, Hyperguy was asking how to get the .obj file from the .obz file. You merely uncompress it by using the Utility python Script that ships with Poser. If he has the folders, most likely he already has the cr2 files in the Character folder, NOT the Geometries folder.
uncompressing an OBZ does not give you a cr2 or a crz - and no matter how many times you uncompress it - you will not get one. as you can see from the folders he showed - he is missing the cr2/crz files (0) files in the library folder means that there are no poser readable files. That being the case he needed access to the files that would provide the cr2/crz that he was missing. He was not asking how to get the obj from the obz, he was asking why the figures would not load.

I have searched the internet far and wide in figuring out .obz files. I know they are compressed .obj files and every post I see about this same issue, it seems people are able to resolve it but it still doesn't make sense for what I'm seeing on my end. I am missing the default characters that come with Poser 11.2 (Pauline, Paul, Ryan e.t.c) and there's an .obz file for each of these characters in the correct Runtime folder. I have even changed the extension to ".obj" with no luck. Why is Poser ignoring these? I've been using this program for 20 years and I've never had this problem. Am I going crazy?
