Subject: Making a prop with Poser Primitives

I have forgotten how to do this! Is there a tutorial on using Poser Primitives to make a prop including putting them together to make an obj and how to UV map them? I looked in the Poser tutes but I couldn't find anything there! Cheers

You can even make figures with Poser Primitives. I made a little guy called Pipeman, using various ones from PP2012.

To make a prop, load them into your scene, then export 'em all together. Drop the resultant mess into UVMapper Pro and do your thing there. Reimport to Poser, texture to your liking and save to the Props Library. You may have to mess around with the Crease Angle in Poser, since they sometimes come back looking half melted.

Making a figure is pretty much the same, except you export each bit individually, then reimport, set up the hierarchy, click the Create New Figure button, set up the joints and all that stuff.

See? Dead easy.

Thanks for your reply.Do you have to have UV Mapper Pro or will the free version do? Cheers

You could always learn to use Blender. It's free. And there are plenty of tutes around to show you what to do.

Echoing what EClarke said, there's also Wings, which is, arguably easier to get started with.

Yes, the free version of UVMapper should do what you need.

You can use the grouping tool to spawn a prop. You can also use it to create mat zones. Or, you can export the prop as an obj and save it. Roadkill is another free UV mapper. Be sure to download the Maya plugin version as that also includes the stand alone version.
